The sweet biscuit note is swirling around but, due to the ABV, is battling with the heat and spice. There's a vegetal note to this one too, peppery like Rocket leaves. #lindoresabbey

Palate: A nice semi-oily mouthfeel and initial smack of white pepper and pineapple syrup. Caramel and toffee provide a layer of richness. The new make berry element is more evident on the palate. #lindoresabbey

Lindores The Distillery Cask Bourbon ASB 59.1% ABV

Appearance: Old gold. A medium beaded tide mark and corrugated semi-viscous film. The swirlmark breaks into many small teardrops after a time. #lindoresabbey

Nose: Sweet and oaky. A library dankness/dustiness together with a malted honey cereal note. Caramel, vanilla and white chocolate buttons arrive next. #lindoresabbey

Palate: A nice mouthfeel. The sulphur note is more evident on the palate and is acoompanied by fruit pie, chocolate and plum flavours. A pepper element warms the tongue, but is balanced by berry sweetness and fruit syrup.

Finish: Chocolate, pepper and berry sweetness linger longest, for a medium amount of time. There's a touch of orange segment right at the end of the finish too. #lindoresabbey

The most subtle hint of sulphur, just a distant wiff of s struck match (not a negative). #lindoresabbey

Plums and 'Fruit and Nut' chocolate now, these are nice aromas! #lindoresabbey

Nose: Quite a lot of the new make still evident in this one. That malty berry combination. There are some nice 'deeper' and richer notes too, from that sherry butt. Cinnamon, sugary stewed fruit pie, pastry and vanilla. #LindoresAbbey

Casks of Lindores Sherry Butts 49.4% ABV

Appearance: Proper dark amber, pretty much brown. It looks delicious! A thin film forms on the glass with a few medium legs, sporadic teardrops and a beaded swirlmark. #LindoresAbbey

Finish: Short to medium. Oak dryness, vanilla and some berry sweetness linger. #LindoresAbbey

Those orchard fruits, that seem to be a calling card of the drams tried tonight, is present and coated in a sugar sweetness. #LindoresAbbey

Palate: A pleasing mouthfeel, not hugely oily but it does have some viscosity. That sweet oak is there on the palate too, but is also a touch drying. Vanilla, caramel and Christmas spices (cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg). #LindoresAbbey

Some oak offers a woody balance to the berry fruits sweetness. #LindoresAbbey

The ABV is fairly gentle, given the near 50% strength. Not necassarly a bad thing as it doesn't interfere with the nose and allows the individual notes to come through. #LindoresAbbey

Nose: A much richer experience than the MCDXCIV. Plenty of varying fruits, from red and blackberries to Christmassy icing sugar-dusted dried fruits. lemon peel,, vanilla and caramel too. #LindoresAbbey

Casks of Lindores STR Wine Barrique 49.4% ABV

Appearance: Autumn leaf amber. A chaotic swirl mark of beads and teardrops quickly forms, the semi-viscous film slowly morphs into a series of medium legs. #LindoresAbbey

A mild chilli heat builds on the tongue. For me, it's a little too bitter and astringent. #LindoresAbbey

Finish: Medium to long. The bitter notes last a while, along with the black pepper, bitter lemon and some tropical notes. #LindoresAbbey

Palate: Not in-your-face sweet, but there's still a sweet element, whereas now it's more caramel-forward than the confectionary sweetness. Tannin bitterness creeps onto the palate, as do milk duds, black pepper, a touch of blood orange & menthol cooling. #LindoresAbbey

Lemon sherberts and fermenting red apples appear next, along with barrel char and another dollop of that vanilla #LindoresAbbey

Lindores Abbey Single Malt Whisky 46% ABV
