A moderne of the name Celia Trent
caught all eyes at a Soho event,
but her parachute pants
caught the wind; and in France
they still talk of her sudden descent.#microprompt ( @FrostPoem )

A confidence man on the street
was well-versed in the art of deceit:
while he snowed marks with hype,
their chattels he'd swipe
with abnormally prehensile feet.— § —

When young Tom his new loafers defiled,
his mom cussed so loud, blue and wild
the whole neighborhood heard;
ain't it sad and absurd
when a parent acts worse than her child?Details altered for personal ass-covering, though we've witnessed such scenes all too often.

A vain fashionista from Tyre
had her hair lacquered into a spire,
but a stray blunt (she claims)
sent her coif up in flames!
Now she's no tresses left to admire.#LimerickRhyme: hairstyle, flames

One morning I was up at daybreak
When nobody else was awake.
I was out of line,
In bed, I felt fine,
And earth instantly stopped the quake.---

When Jenny felt awfully jaded,
Ideas of escape soon cascaded.
Upset she soon faced
How they all lacked taste.
She ran out of steam and was aided.---

Of water afraid, Jim didn't drink
In Summer his face turned all pink

Upset 'bout what people should think.---

CW: Flash Fiction: Nelson At the Holiday Party (CW due to length and frivolity)
Nelson At the Holiday Party
When Nelson heard her name mentioned at the party, he came over trepid and queasy: they had "history", though not of that sort. He wanted to slip out before her grand entrance.
Too late; in that moment she wafted over the parquet wearing a gossamer gown calculated to draw all eyes. Melissa. As if by instinct, her cold stare homed on Nelson. And then a comedy of errors ensued: her chiffon snagged on a holly wreath, and in extricating herself, she stepped a stiletto heel on a power cord, de-twinkling the tree lights as she butt-flopped onto a pile of presents.
Her spell was broken. Amid the aghast looks and irrepressible titters, Nelson strode over and offered both hands to help her back to her feet. The party awkwardly resumed; she muttered a begrudging thank you, Nelson bowed slightly in acknowledgement, and as she turned to survey the wreckage, he sought his hosts to proffer an excuse for his early departure. When granted such a boon, he reasoned, best not to test the Fates.
