  2. Today, on my work PC, #Microsoft #Outlook threw a pop-up in my face with a survey:

    "How likely are you to recommend the new #MicrosoftOutlook to others?" And the presented a #Likert scale from 1 to 5.

    I answered "1".

    Then it gave me a bunch of reasons to select from, all of which are valid complaints, but I selected "Other" and filled in the blank with:

    "It's #spyware."

  3. I might regret this later, but... What are the pros and cons of five-point vs. seven-point #Likert scales, and what are the risks of changing from whatever a measure was developed for? I've seen opinionated blog posts on this, but is there actual #research on this, or #simulations or the like? We're working on a #survey, data will be used for multivariate #analysis like #regressions, #SEM and the like. On one hand, we'd like to preserve the scale options the different included measures were developed for. On the other, we want to standardize response options across the survey.

  6. Today's cultural learnings for make great nation of Statistics:

    * Chi Squared distribution is useful
    * Likert data is hard work
    * I have a lot of survey data that needs re-doing... :)
