Just because data is freely available on the web doesn't mean that it's actually accessible!

Before Radiance #LightTrends, you needed to download a large set of massive files and know how to process them. Even just opening a set of files in python took several minutes. Now even a child can examine trends in light emission in 20-30 seconds with just a few mouse clicks. I'm very grateful for the GEOEssential funding that made this possible!

Radiance #LightTrends is a web application we developed to allow everyone to visualize trends in nighttime satellite imagery from the #VIIRS #DNB instrument: https://lighttrends.lightpollutionmap.info

It was programmed by Jurij Stare with funding from the EU Horizon 2020 project GEOEssential.
