Friends will make claims of secrets in video games and you would try to do it and see if it was real. They almost never were. But looking back, it was a fun way to stretch the life of a game.

I remember being frustrated trying to find out information about something and the encyclopedia didn't have that topic in it, or else the entry wasn't enough to satisfy my curiosity.

Just stumbled across a great ad for Sony cassette tapes from an old i-D magazine ~1984. I'll need to dig out the mag but I think that was an actual earbud taped to the page, I-D was big on creative ads and inserts back then.
