Sigh, I'm struggling with a Thing I don't like in my life, friends, but I can't change it. Well. Not immediately (unless I'm willing to face some really unpleasant consequences, and I'm not).
I can work towards changing said Thing but that will take time, and meanwhile, I need to be OK with the status quo. This is unsettling and annoying because I've really reached the end of my tether with the Thing.
I need to focus on radical acceptance/gratitude/what good I have in my life over the next few days. Currently I'm journalling, writing lists of 'things I love and are good in life', spending time with my favourite folk, planning some gardening...
any other tips will be greatly appreciated. This is taking up a lot of energy and it's demoralising and sad.

good morning friends, it's time for another round of #LifeStuff, the tag for trying to get things done. it's been a while since I've done one
to-do list:
✓ eat breakfast
- start a load of laundry
- unpack/put away blankets and towels (now that the linen closet is accessible)... and idk, maybe I'll do more, but that list is making me tired already. me wanting to do a Life Stuff post is usually a good sign that I'm climbing out of a #depression pit, but I've been very depressed for many months, so I'd rather not overdo it
anyway, here goes! I just finished my breakfast, let's start some laundry!

The List:
✓ eat breakfast
✓ laundry: washed, a few things are dried, the rest is hanging to dry!
✓ move bedside table back to the bedroom and put stuff back on it
✓ put the cedar chest at the end of my bed
✓ wipe down cedar chest, inside and out
- find homes for: ottoman, brass container, two green glass chickens, candy dish, CD player, some large paintings
- put woolens in cedar chest!
- collapse, probablyso really, I got a ton of stuff done! also I started reading my TLoZ The Minish Cap/Phantom Hourglass manga that I got in San Francisco. it's very cute so far EXCEPT for the bit where Link, in tiny form, looks up some woman's skirt, like, what the actual fuck???

this thing being in front of my bed is going to take some getting used to lol I keep barking my calves (the back part, not the shins) when I try to flop onto my bed 🤣
I do kinda want to try to get it refinished, with ideally a stain rather than paint, so we can see the wood grain
also, in the second photo there's two long nails poking through the bottom, bent so they won't stab me, at least. not really visible, in the top left corner: a screw sticking out of the bottom, just poking up, ready to stab my hand
so, even if I can't get it refinished anytime soon, I do need to come up with a diy fix for at minimum the screw
but AAAHHHHH I'm so excited about this piece!

my mother's mother's mother, Mary Green, painted this. at first I thought it was a sparrow (one of my favorite birds), but apparently it's a tufted titmouse, which is still a good bird 😅

good morning, y'all! I've got a bunch of stuff to move around today, to get my apartment back to normal, so the plan is:
- eat breakfast
- start laundry¹
- move my bedside table back to the bedroom² and put everything back on it
- put the cedar chest at the end of my bed where it belongs and try to find homes for all the stuff that's on top of it³
- put woolens in cedar chest!
- collapse, probably¹ found a bunch of warm clothes (including some woolens) I'd forgotten about in a bin under the bed
² it was moved to the kitchen to give me more room to move boxes
³ other stuff from my parents: an ottoman, some art, a fancy CD player -

eyyy, so far I've done:
✓ eat breakfast
✓ have therapy
✓ Blanket Time™ with Midna
✓ get dressed
- stay home until cannabis is delivered
- go to The People's Coffee to work on #writing stuff/character sketches for my #monsterhearts2 one-shot this weekendI've actually done a little bit of character work for the game: writing lists of simple, divisive motivations for side characters. I still want to: finish the list of names, come up with scene location ideas, and maybe flesh out one or two scene ideas in case my players are shy about starting the game
Monsterhearts is like a nice halfway point between, say, D&D and the DMless games¹ I've been facilitating, in terms of "DM" prep. like, I don't *need* to prep for hours before running a game, BUT, I find having, like, lists of names really helpful
¹ Dream Askew/Dream Apart, also by Avery Adler, and Sleepaway (by Jay Dragon) which uses the same engine as Dream Askew

good morning (ish)
I'm gonna try resurrecting my #LifeStuff hashtag. for newer followers, I use it as an attempt to give myself accountability to get things done, and it usually involves a checklist of things I want to get done, like:
- eat breakfast
✓ have therapy
✓ Blanket Time™ with Midna
- get dressed
- don't forget I'm getting cannabis delivered
- go to The People's Coffee for a couple hours before work to work on #writing stuff/character sketches for an #RPG I'm running this weekend (#Monsterhearts by Avery Alder)I read once that you should include things you've already done in to-do lists for a dopamine hit ... I don't know how well it works, but I like doing it, so 🤷🏻
anyway, therapy was good, Blanket Time™ was had, so I guess I should put on clothes and eat some cereal while I wait for the cannabis delivery

today was kinda rough ... I got some errands done and then had what I thought was gonna be a 20 minute doctor appointment that lasted an hour and a half (and was emotionally draining) and by the time it was done and my ride arrived, I had less than an hour to get home, eat something and start work
so I called out of work, had dinner with a friend (and their cute dog!) and now I'm home watching Star Trek
