That battery in your garage? It might be one bad install away from a fire.
LiFePO4 rarely enters thermal runaway. Lead-acid doesn't catch fire but releases hydrogen gas while charging, and needs real ventilation.
Most battery fires trace back to bad installs, not bad cells. Sealed enclosures, no airflow, mismatched inverters.

@lennart It's #Victron's freely distributed Linux-based OS for energy management. It connects via Wifi to The Cloud and I can monitor stuff from home. It is connected to my MPPT solar charger, a Smartshunt and the BMS of my #lifepo4 battery. You can buy a device called Cerbo GX or an inverter with a Cerbo built inside, or download VenusOS and install it yourself on a raspberry. There's an app you can use in an Android device.

Had some troubleshooting with the #raspberrypi running #VenusOS. Turns out a flash symbol on the screen indicates inadequate power. The 12 V dc-dc stepdown is rated at 3000 mA and it looks like we're under 1 A. Changed the USB-A to micro-USB lead after a long session of elimination. That seems to have fixed it and it now boots reliably without bootlooping. Since the raspberry pi is built into the #LiFePO4 battery it was a pig to debug. Have to rebuild it to have the raspberry external.
Ikea's cutlery box fits, if you sand off the edge.
Light installed in the pilot berth. Have been planning this for literal decades.
Pleasantly surprised at how good the old oxidated mast turned out with Hempel's mast oil

@mrpjevans yes #sunshine exists even in #UK every once and a while :D cool with the 10kWh #lifepo4 ? be careful with that... better place it outside the house as stated a billion times, need someone who can do #bcp for a #bms for #lifepo4 then it can be handled save.

Concerned about a couple cells in one of my 24v LiFePo4 batteries. Cells 4 and 5 once above a certain voltage just race into overvoltage. This battery will be relatively well balance until it hits 28V, then a minute later it's seriously out of balance and gone into overvoltage protection at 29V.
Any thoughts?

Auto kun on ollut seisonnassa nyt kylmimmän talven ajan niin olikin #LiFePo4 akku päässyt tyhjenemään niin paljon, että BMS oli mennyt suojatilaan. Eipä muuta kuin lämpöä, kennot sarjamuodosta irti ja 0,01C virralla nostamaan jännitettä ensin pareittain ja sitten kaikki rinnan.
Illalla olikin kennot jo aika rasvassa ja sai normaalin latauksen päälle yön yli. -
