One of my focuses lately has been decluttering. I think the best idea I've had for this has been to keep the decluttering habit itself small and inconsequential. Marie Kondo, author of "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up", suggests decluttering one room at a time. I've taken that a step further -- our home is relatively decluttered, we've just the problem areas, so I'm taking it one space at a time. One problem-area at a time.
