Well – courtesy of Skerries’ most famous resident, ‘Crazy Chris’ Harris – that unique opportunity has just presented itself.
And the cost? Nothing at all.
Crazy Chris, who took on the #lifeboat in the hope of turning her into a truly one-of-a-kind #B&B on one of #Shetland’s most remote #islands, hopes to pass her on to the right person as a personal project.

Close by the statue in Port William is an excellent community run cafe called The View which was set up to help fund a life boat service that the RLNI were not willing to fund because they thought that there was insufficient need on this stretch of coast, but the local community did think was necessary.

1. The day spent at a local 'fun day' with a #Lifeboat #RNLI stall, a bit of money raised, more importantly the word spread and some beach safety advice given.
2. Back home, tired, but welcomed by good aromas from the slow cooker.
3. Relaxing in bed, thinking through the day, writing #3GoodThings #Today, some deep breaths and soon to sleep...

Unterstützt wurde sie dabei von britischen Booten: Dem #RNLI #Lifeboat 13-07 aus #Dungeness u. der BF #RANGER.
Gemeinsam konnten sie 61 Pers. lebend aus dem Wasser bergen.
Auch ein britisches Flugzeug u. ein franz. #Dauphin Rettungshubschrauber beteiligten sich an der Suche. Der Dauphin entdeckte eine leblose Person im Wasser, die von dem RNLI Team geborgen wurde. Diese wurde später an Bord der #AbeilleNormandie für tot erklärt.
