I don't know if I'm the last person to know this but I just learned about Soulseek, which is music sharing software that's different from torrenting. It works so well and the selection is beyond belief! I found two albums that I've had on vinyl forever but could never find digital versions.
I started with a Linux flatpack, which hung my computer a couple times -- this *never* happens on Linux -- but then found out about Licorice, which is a client with a Debian repository and it's working great! Anyway, here's Ted Lundy and the Southern Mountain Boys singing It Rained a Mist, which is an obscure murder ballad. Arrr, y'all! 🏴☠️🦜

I just finished making a tray of salmiakki (salmiak). In retrospect I should have started this project on a much less humid day. The salmiakki has to dry for 24 hours but it will likely take longer than that to slightly harden. Lots of work too, but it will hopefully be worth it. #salmiakki #liquorice #licorice

Red Vines are not licorice. Licorice (Licourice) is black or dark brown. Licorice tastes similar to anise. It is the root of an herb. Red Vines contain no licorice and therefore are not licorice. There is no such thing as red licorice. This is a hill I will die upon. #licourice #licorice

An #Australian Darrell Lea (Quadrant Private Equity) bag of Liquorice Allsorts versus a #British Maynards Bassetts (Mondelez International) bag of Liquorice Allsorts (a few of these had already been eaten lol, didn't survive a car trip home.)
The British version certainly has more sorts of allsorts.
But IMO the more limited sorts of the Darrell Lea version are higher quality in and of themselves. They're brighter, perkier, buff, well honed sorts.
Like a lot of British things, the Maynards Bassetts ones look like they've been sat on by Jabba the Hutt. They're kinda flaccid, warped, dull sorts. There is probably a relevant British standard for this special feature of British food, BSI-5318008 or something.
There's probably some whole sorta allsort metaphor to be had here. But I'm too busy having allsorts.

Okay so my org has a new president and on her second day she put a giant bowl of licorice candies in the staff lounge, saying her friend sent her some but it was too much. There was salmiakki, "school chalk" sticks, licorice dogs and fish, and Lakritspuck, among others. 🥰 This was a good hire. #licorice

I received some #GoodNews today! Even though we're pretty good at a lot of things in #Denmark, handling #immigration in a respectful and timely manner isn't always one of them. Today though, my wife of 16 years was finally informed that she will be included in the next citizenship proposal presented to the parliament in October. If the proposal passes - which is always does - she will be granted permanent Danish citizenship! 🇩🇰
Obviously I suggested that we'd do something extraordinarily Danish to celebrate, but I'm still looking for input. So far I'm stuck at #smørrebrød, being unhappy about the weather - rain or shine - or something revolving around #licorice, although I expect her lack of fondness for this delightful sweet will remain unchanged by her new citizenship.

So I found out last night that https://licorice.com/ is a thing, and I'm not sure how selling nothing but #licorice is a sustainable #business model...
...then again, it's a relatively niche interest, and I'm sure aficionados are willing to pay to buy the rare and specialized stuff in bulk. Just surprised that it's not through a store that sells more candy than just licorice...

I've had a real great writing experience with the #Kaweco #Perkeo. It's such a good writer and such a fun design.
I decided to get some more. The blue is the one I already had. The black I call my #licorice pen. and the clear is my first #demonstrator.
Each of them came with four blue cartridges and an empty, gonna use those for my liliput.
