  1. @gnoll110 @vandenberglegs @ajsadauskas Looks like the Perrottet-Nassif-McInerney ICAC inquiry could go nuclear.

And it hasn't even started yet!

Apparently 'Well done' Angus Taylor is factionally-aligned to McInerney, and the former state police minister they tried to roll is already calling on him to resign.

    From the ex-Fairfax papers:

"Former NSW police minister David Elliott says federal Opposition Leader Angus Taylor should resign, saying his close links to besieged Catholic Schools NSW boss Dallas McInerney have left the Liberal Party exposed as it faces a damaging corruption inquiry.

"The anti-corruption watchdog on Wednesday announced a long-awaited public inquiry following its lengthy investigation into fugitive Sydney property developer Jean Nassif’s links to Liberal powerbrokers, councils and Catholic schools.

"McInerney on Thursday stood aside as the boss of Catholic Schools NSW after the commission revealed it was investigating whether he signed off on illegal political donations from that organisation to recruit Liberal Party members."

  3. Friend!

When was the last time you changed your smoke detector batteries?

I did it on change of Prime Minister but that got too hectic for a bit there. #libspill #spill #auspol

  5. So the new Liberal leader insists that “owning a home should be within reach of every Australian” — but when you look at what he actually stands for, there’s no suggestion in his own policy or public comments that house prices will ever fall, let alone be made genuinely affordable for most people. He’s talking about cutting red tape and protecting tax breaks for investors, while opposing reforms like changes to capital gains tax that housing economists say could help cool the market.
Meanwhile, this is a man with a portfolio of nine properties and thousands of hectares of land — benefiting from the very rules that have helped push prices sky-high — and yet his vision of affordability doesn’t actually include any measures that would reduce prices closer to what ordinary Australians can afford.
Saying “home ownership should be within reach” without advocating for policies that would actually lower or correct inflated prices is just more political spin. If house prices stayed at current levels or kept rising, only wealthy investors and existing owners would be celebrating that ideal being “within reach”. That’s not affordability — that’s a fantasy.

  7. Liberal figure Charlotte Mortlock has quit the party following the dumping of NSW's first female leader. A powerful reminder that representation isn't just about seats—it's about a culture that actually values and supports women's leadership. When the glass ceiling is reinforced instead of broken, women will find better places to lead.
Some female Liberal members ‘incredibly worried’ after Sussan Ley’s ousting, with one saying: ‘The boys are back in charge’

  9. It's genuinely sad that in 2026 Australia, the only place doing real, no bullshit journalism is a youtuber.
While the ABC & corporate press tiptoe around Liberal Party corpse-flogging, friendlyjordies just drops the receipts on Angus Taylor as the new opposition leader and why it's the final nail in their coffin.

  15. Jane Hume is Angus Taylor's new henchperson. Australians can depend on Jane Hume to do all that's expected of a woman in her position.

I keenly await the new Deputy Leader of the Opposition Jane Hume's [Crumb] Maiden Speech on behalf of the Patriarchy.

  17. Angus Taylor and the doctored document mystery: ‘It took us about 30 seconds to realise it was a fake’

When the minister tried to ‘pour a bucket of dirt’ over Sydney lord mayor Clover Moore, he ended up with mud all over himself. Investigative reporter Anne Davies spills all

  21. Watching Taylor's presser. Full of racial dog-whistling, culture war crap, and the usual appeal to voters with promises of benefits that turn out only to ever accrue to the already rich, all in the finest Liberal traditions. Nice one Angus. #auspol #libspill

  23. I love watching question time. It's supposed to be about extracting discoveries from the ministers, but it usually reveals more about the questioners. In the case of present opposition, proof is provided that they are vacuous nongs at 2 pm every sitting day. Timid Taylor asks few questions to date. I look forward to him having to step up into the comedy spotlight. #auspol #libspill

  25. Sussan Ley's loss of the Liberal leadership and plan to quit parliament will create a by-election for the rural NSW seat of Farrer. There will be a potential four way contest between Liberal, Nationals, One Nation and an independent. Antony Green has the details

  26. #Women with ambition might be looking outside the #Liberal Party for a career. On a positive note, Ted O'Brien has been demoted. The #Libs just took a giant leap to the right. #Libspill. What did the informal voter write on their ballot? I said an hour ago: "Will there be more resignation or defections?" So now Sussan Ley has announced her resignation. Then we saw Malcolm Turnbull give his scorching condemnation of @AngusTaylorMP and his savage bunch of henchMEN. Sadly, the populist right will become emboldened by the demise of the Liberal Party, and #ClimateAction will be under serious threat.

liberals don’t know who to follow cos no-one is leading. they are a rabble . perhaps the only conviction they each have in common is winning is the only thing of value

shane dowling agrees with malcolm turnbull:

Liberal Party branch members love “Sky after Dark” on Sky News, it’s their newsletter. Sky after Dark are incredibly influential over Liberal Party pre-selections and via the Liberal Party membership.

Liberal MP’s therefor watch “Sky after Dark” so see what their branch members are being told which again reinforces how influential “Sky after Dark” is and it drives how the Liberal Party members vote.

And that influences Liberal Party pre-selections and the quality of people they can choose.

  32. Also, while this may not be entirely untrue, it's not actually the compliment you think it is... But I guess brains are overrated anyway when you're in a fight for survival with, um, One Nation. #libspill

  33. Someone just posted "Fantastic. Well done, Angus" and I'm not sure if it was facetious or not.
