  1. @jessebot I can't say for sure without testing. I think I may have a MiniPC with the Intel N350, same as Starlite - will check.

Update: My system has a different chip, not that one.

@janvlug In case, you have #Librem11 tablet, can you please check if it can easily handle editing 4k videos with #Shotcut or #Kdenlive?

  8. @danie10 Please add @purism As far as I know, it's still the ony company in the world that has made #LinuxOnly laptops, minis, servers, tablet, and phones as well as the OS which is #FSF-endorsed.

In all fairness, Dell shouldn't even be on the list as their XPS laptops with Linux preloaded isn't #LinuxFirst or even available except in certain countries.

  13. @backmota Unfortunately, I also have to work MS Teams for work. I run it as a Linux flatpak on my Fedora computers. I do not know if it would also work on the #Librem11.

  18. The frustrating, multi-year saga of my attempt to get the refund that was promised to me from @[email protected] for my #Purism #Librem5 has come to a yucky end. I wanted to be done with it so I proposed a compromise - full store credit that I could use towards a #Librem11. It kinda sucks because I ended up giving the garbage company more money but at least I have a reasonably useful device. I put #Fedora 40 on it and it's been great so far.

  27. I'm interested to try a tablet, the idea of a well sized Linux tablet with a full laptop processor, AMOLED display, an open source bios and other goodies sounds fantastic. Maybe I'll save my pennies and get one.

  32. @lorendias any more thoughts or updates on your ?

  33. @purism I happened to be reading the blog and this is the exact #linux #hacker #modder kind of thing I love.

The prospect of 3d printing a back plate with VESA mount means that this size or style device could theoretically be used as add-on displays and double as a grab and go device. I saw someone on #fedi working on the software for such a concept not long ago and even the #valve #steamdeck oled model linked up the decks in a similar way as demonstrated in their killer trailer

    yewtu.be/watch?v=_vTsZMvjJ-A

I do love the sleek aluminum style and premium feel of the #librem11 but I also feel like this kind of 3d mod is catnip to the Linux community.

In unrelated news I would love to 3d print a Librem 5 back plate or make one out of copper someday, its half pipe dream but if the STL files ever are released with the needed nub clip details I could see those being techie catnip in a sense too. So cool to see mods 😄👍

  36. #purism #librem11 #linuxmobile I was able to get #gnome #snapshot #camera app to open via flatpak, it would start with a black sceen, and then when I clicked switch app the Librem 11 front light would come on and after about 10 seconds it would snap a quick image before freezing.

It didn't save that image. But I was able to take a screenshot to show the quality comparison between #cheese and `gnome-snapshot`

I also tried to load #megapixels camera app, but it said
`Could not read device name from device tree. Could not find any config file.`
