In our front yard, one of my fave perennials is finally blooming again & bringing me some floral joys. Unlike most other flowering plants, liatris blooms downwards & not upwards. Their tiny spiky/fringe flowers last for quite some time after blooming. Pollinators absolutely adore liatris flowers & swarm them in Summer.

What's unique & interesting about liatris?

Their flowers bloom downwards & not upwards, like most other flowering perennial plants.
