"Two-Spirit powwows have been a growing space in nearly the last 15 years all across Turtle Island for Two-Spirit and Indigiqueer community members and allies.
"From one of the longest-running dedicated Two-Spirit powwows in San Francisco to the second annual in Montana, Two-Spirit powwows have two common goals: to share resources and celebrate Indigiqueer joy.
" 'We want to honor and celebrate the fact that even through #genocide, even through #assimilation, Two-Spirit and Indigiqueer folks are alive and thriving, and are contributing in endless ways to their own families, to their own communities, and to the world,' said #AngelFabian, executive director of the Bay Area American Indian Two-Spirits. Fabian is Ben’Zaa (Zapotecx) and Xicanx.
"As the #Trump administration has brought with it a wave of attacks on the rights of 2SLGBTQ+ people, especially trans rights, the importance of Two-Spirit powwows, societies and spaces are essential and continue to grow.

First Nation or Native American, Two Spirit or third gender are being added as a suffix to #LGBTQ type acronyms; but after the genocide of which they were and are part, they should be added as a prefix as in #2SLGBTQIA+ instead of #LGBTQ2S etc

It's what I call The RuPaul Effect. RuPaul reminds all that we must be 'inclusive', but the upshot of that is that packs of straight women - okay, sometimes with their one token gay friend - feel it is their right to come into a gay bar (a destination intentionally meant to be safe space for that community, especially when the 'inclusitivity' isn't shown elsewhere).
BTW, just to be clear - not all gay men are into drag, either.

"Set in a cafe, there's this couple in middle school between a guy and an enby called Mogu (Mogumi? Maybe?) with white hair and short low pigtails, usually. I think a bear hair clip as well? Cute af tiny backpack!
People ask a few times if Mogumo (?) is a trans girl.
They keep saying "no, I'm not a boy nor a girl. I'm just a person. I'm me, something else" or along those lines.
Somehow, they get work in a cafe with other GNC and queer people. (I think maybe a lesbian schoolfriend had a crush on them, thinking they were a girl, but I feel like that may have been a different story.)
One was a gay guy who just liked dressing like a chick sometimes. Another was a trans chick. I can't remember but again, maybe a sapphic somewhere? "
(Unrelated: does anyone know of a good corollary for sapphic? Like, the gayest of historical dudes, so gay he embodies the idea of MLM but as an adjective.)

A few years ago, I’m in Toronto and a street is being closed down and barricades being set up.
Very close to me is a young woman and her, maybe, 6 year old son. Child asks ‘Why?’ Woman replies they are getting street ready for a party. Child asks ‘What kind of party?’ Woman replies, ‘Well, you know how Mummy and Daddy love each other? Sometimes a Mummy loves another Mummy, or a Daddy loves a Daddy. This is a party for them.’ Child thinks for a second and says, ‘Cool!’

Thought y'all might like to see how my stitching looks before adding backing to my work. After I finish stitching (I used the two needle method for this project) I trim the excess pellon and burn the edges to make it neater (That way you don't risk trimming too close and cutting stitches). Then I add the backing, bar pin, and edging, and all done!
