I used to be way too serious...
It used to be an effort to smile for the camera. Most of the time, it just looked fake, so I just had to perfect a cool stare.

@baekdal I am not surprised. A lot of companies are #lgbtfriendly just for business, in an opportunistic way. You can call it LGBT+ washing or #RainbowWashing. When it no longer suits their business, they just change their marketing strategy.

It goes without saying that #Canada’s #LGBTfriendly official policies, like recognizing #GayMarriage, put it high on the list for potential destinations, but so did its points system for assessing potential #immigrants, which awards points based on work experience & education & other factors.
I know our story isn’t necessarily a common one for #GayPeople in the #Philippines & a lot of gay people struggle more to be accepted by their families there.

I wish I were joking: a #LGBT-friendly #Fediverse instance with a domain name specifically chosen to add some light cussing is now shutting down because 1. you can't write the abbreviation of "as f***" in the ending of the domain without "AFghanistan", which is now a huge problem as the country is now ruled by the #Taliban, famous enemies of cussing and the queer, and 2. even if the domain wasn't shut down by the moral police, the server owners would rather let their server die than give a cent of support to the Taliban. wedistribute.org/2024/01/queer… -
