I've bought a couple of pairs from Zenni and they do pretty good - though I've not tried since I had to get progressive lenses.
I've also considered going a route for a car tag treatment...

#today is gonna be a loooooooong one. Up early to get the spouse to work. Have to hit some downtown stores for a party gift (#TheToyStore and #RavenBookstore, #Lawrence and #LFK for the win!). Pay some bills. Then get ready for some kid free time with friends way the hell over in Lee Summit until who knows when.
Here's to not falling asleep at the wheel on the way home. 😂

🌪️ We had another near-miss with a Tornado Warning tonight that went just south of the KU campus. Full rotation, but didn't touch the ground, or it would not have been fun.
If you are a local to #lfk, this is the best resource I have found since we haven't had local news in a decade+.

When I had my quilt business, a few customers would ask for bird-themed quilts, mostly owls for some reason? But this one I made for me. It’s a modification of the Sew Fresh Quilts black bird pattern into #Jayhawks on the Kaw (the quilting on the blue background looks like flowing water)
I’m vacillating about whether to do this pattern again with corvids - it was a lot of fun to sew

So big day here in #lfk.
It's also about to rain, so I'm delayed with an electric smoker.
Thankfully, I can raise the temperature of my sous vide and cut an hour off our cook time (made up math), but both a sous vide and a smoker are forgiving.

In hindsight, it was 10000% the right decision even though I got asked 100s of times when we were going to do the next one.
I suspect there might eventually be a reason to return to #LFK for such an event, but I'm too busy, and our other REVSYS'ers have been too busy.
It's been a challenging year on a lot of levels, and I think going forward, we might have the time and space to think about what comes next.

It's also a good time to reflect on why we didn't host Django's 20th birthday here in #LFK like we did 10 years ago.
We almost did 4 years ago, but the pandemic disrupted everything.
Why 16 and not 15 you may ask? I bought https://djangoprom.com in anticipation of a PROM themed event.
Why not do a 20th here? We knew we were moving offices and after 10 years of being heavily involved in running DEFNA and DjangoCon US, I wasn't ready to take on an event.
