  1. "The film is compellingly, playfully wayward, a documentary-leaning piece so sincere you might not entirely believe it to be a fictional construction until the credits roll." - we take a look at Mangosteen eyeforfilm.co.uk/review/mangos #film #experimental #ShortFilm #LFF2023

  2. "The brutality of the abuse is never played down or shied away from, but nor is it considered insurmountable." - we take a look at documentary The Taste Of Mango eyeforfilm.co.uk/review/the-ta #LFF2023 #film #documentary #movies

  3. "While the end result is important, Hùng’s film is all about savouring the moment, something that becomes more urgent as it progresses - although talk of speed has little place in a film that unfolds with the pace and beauty of a flower." - we take a look at The Taste Of Things eyeforfilm.co.uk/review/the-ta #film #movies #food #71SSIFF #LFF2023 #CFF42 #NYFF61

  4. Also went to see "Chicken Run 2" yesterday which was perfectly lovely and exactly what you might want from this particular sequel. And lots of the cast/crew were there which was pretty cool. To be in the same room as Nick Park - creator of Wallace and Gromit! #LFF #lff2023 #Film #Movies

  5. Went to see a great doco last night at the London Film Festival - "Chasing Chasing Amy" by director Sav Rodgers which explores how much the film meant to him, but also is an amazing record of how the film was made, how controversial its themes and content is, about Weinstein and Kevin Smith's career, about Joey Lauren Adams. It's also an honest reflection of the filmmaker's personal journey and relationship. Loved it! hollywoodreporter.com/movies/m #LFF #lff2023 #Films #Movies #KevinSmith #SavRodgers

  6. Up and out super extra early this #LFF2023 morning (after a very late #LFF night last night) for a world-premiere press screening of #BookOfClarence, a Biblical epic starring LaKeith Stanfield. Cuz I thought it might be good for my critic mojo to help frame the conversation around a new film, which I haven’t even had the chance to do in years. Still: 🥱🥱🥱

  7. #LoadedQuestion: How do we reinvent cinema in the streaming age? What might reinvented cinema look like? What kinds of stories might cinema tell that it hasn’t been in recent years, or ever? Where do we go from here? (Posed by Martin Scorsese at London Film Festival this weekend.) #LFF2023

  8. Bit cheeky of a film publicist to ask press to hold reviews of a film till its release next month when that film 1) has already screened at other festivals, 2) screened for press at #LFF2023, 3) has multiple LFF public screenings.

  9. Dunno what kind of film community yet exists here, but: Anyone got a sense of what the #LFF2023 #SurpriseFilm is gonna be in an hour and a half? Some guesses I’ve heard include #Ferrari and #NextGoalWins. (I’d be happy with either!)

  10. How I’m festing: Masks. 😬 😷 Plus CPC nasal spray and throat spray, because almost no one else is masking. #LondonFilmFestival #LFF2023 #CovidIsNotOver

  11. So worth getting up predawn this morning to make the #LFF2023 press screening of Richard Linklater’s #HitMan. Woo-hoo, what a movie! And I’m so so glad I knew nothing about it going in. Honestly, you should be aware that it’s an absolute tour de force for star Glen Powell (who also cowrote the script), but beyond that, avoid any talk of the story. Incredible film!
