Almost 2 weeks on #Lexapro. Noticed an interesting trend in my resting heart rate. It's going down. Screen shot is from my #Fitbit app. It shows this month, 71 (my average resting heart rate), bpm personal range (63-82) with a graph that shows the decrease.
I was taking 3/4 of a pill. I decreased it back to a 1/2 pill. Yesterday I was feeling flat, tired & a little numb, with a nagging light headache. Today I feel more Heidi-like. Like I'm feeling my feelings again. #mentalHealth #depression

Everybody finds me much better to be around, says how much better I look and sound, and my brain is getting more broken by the day.
I just learned that when most people try hard to remember things, it can make their head hurt, and that they just stop trying to remember the thing they forgot.
My wife and dad had a whole conversation with which I struggled to interact, in which I ended up virtually non-verbal. They were more relaxed and comfortable because it no longer occurred to them to put in the effort to help me understand, and I hated myself for not understanding.
They both think I should go off the medication, with my wife less strenuously,because she doesn't want to decide for me (she's the absolute best), but I'm dedicated to giving this a real chance.
Anybody with experience here? Does this get better? Or at least tolerable?

CW: Depression, medication change, life
I decided to wean off of Lexapro, being relatively convinced that my depressive episode was, in large part, situational. I've done a lot of work to shift the situation, so I wanted to see how things are without the med. Checked with the doc, and got a smaller dose to help with the tapering.
I can feel that it's about out of my system. Oof. It's been the wrong week for that. o_O Fingers crossed that I was right and things smooth out. And that I don't witness another shooting, have a volunteer misunderstand such that she doesn't cook the food for a large event that she agreed to cook, and that no one else sends me a manipulative email trying to push past my boundaries in order to make up for their poor planning.

I'm currently tapering off my #lexapro / #escitalopram and I'm at a funny stage where I'm starting to get side-effects again, because the gaps between pills are long enough for my brain to dry out somewhat.
