El verdadero enemigo de Lex Luthor no viste de azul
La cultura popular siempre nos ha vendido que la gran rivalidad de Metrópolis es una batalla física entre la fuerza alienígena y el intelecto humano. Sin embargo, si analizamos la conducta de Lex Luthor desde la psicología clínica, descubrimos que su peor enemigo jamás ha sido Superman, sino su propia estructura de personalidad. Luthor padece lo que en salud mental tipificamos como narcisismo maligno, un cuadro clínico donde la grandiosidad, la falta absoluta de empatía y la necesidad obsesiva de control dictan cada una de sus decisiones.
Su aparente cruzada para defender los logros humanos frente a una deidad de otro planeta es únicamente una máscara. La realidad detrás de su obsesión es una insoportable herida narcisista causada por la envidia. Lex se autoproclamaba el salvador legítimo de nuestra especie por el simple hecho de ser el más brillante, pero la aparición de un ser genuinamente altruista destruyó su fantasía de superioridad absoluta. Al ser incapaz de procesar la bondad desinteresada debido a su vacío emocional, proyecta sus propias ambiciones tiránicas en el héroe, demostrando que el ego desmedido puede cegar incluso a la mente más brillante del mundo.
