I bought a humidifier, a Levoit LV500S. The thing has WiFi connectivity, which obviously only works if you install their own shit app. So, I got it from the Play Store (it's called VeSync), installed it, paired with the device, and right after setting the WiFi password, it complains that it doesn't manage to connect to their cloud service and then tells me that the way to fix this is TO CHANGE MY ROUTER'S DNS TO 8.8.8.8. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK? #internetofshit #levoit #iotfail

On top of all that, at least some of the filters they sell can be purchased elsewhere cheaper.

If I had to filter out an entire room, I'd likely choose similarly classified filters tho.

Has anyone in evaluated these to determine their actual filtration efficiency? Seems the whole Levoit CORE line... this is a betrayal of trust.
