Incidentally, that really super trashy compression my phone put on that drumming video sounds kinda cool if you use is sparingly and as an effect, and I am working on a stereo pair of Shure Level Loc clones to create that sort of effect.

I realized I haven't done an update on this project in a while. I kinda forgot to update it. I thought I was out of stuff to build, but then I realized I had one more Level Loc board to finish and the parts. The first board is almost done. Basically I need the panel so I can mount the pots and finish wiring them.
I started the 2nd board today. Transistors and resistors in.

Did a big Mouser order yesterday. All the parts to get pretty far along with 3 different projects.

So the Shure Level Loc clone project inched forward yesterday. I got the transistors in. All three types of which the unit calls for aren't being manufactured anymore.

A friend of mine in Italy sent me some prototype boards for his clone of the Shure Level Loc. The Level Loc was a crappy brick wall limiter designed in the 60s for PA systems in gyms and schools and such. Not for high fidelity music applications. But then someone discovered they had a "sound" and could be used as an effect on mixes on drums and things like that. I don't really have allthe parts yet, but I soldered what I had.
