In the supermarket, shelves are bare, with large signs reading: no leafy #vegetables, no #lettuces. The #crops are scorched by the sun or didn't grow at all due to the #droughts and extreme #heat. #Fruit is more expensive than ever. Too hot, too dry, or destroyed by extremely big hail. Even a simple baguette is again 10 cents more expensive (wheat failures).
Poor people are the first to be hit by crop failures.

Wisst ihr, was mich richtig glücklich macht? Im #Garten zu arbeiten. Habe heute Salatsetzlinge vereinzelt, #Blumen gesät + entweder #Lauch, #Zwiebeln oder #Knoblauch vereinzelt. Sät sich alles selbst aus, deswegen verliere ich ab + an den Überblick.
Was macht euch so richtig glücklich?
I love #gardening. Replanted little #lettuces, #leeks, #onions or #garlics today. Nt really sure as they're allowed to self-seed + then I forget where I had what.
What fills you with #happiness?

No, we didn’t just grow 2 #beets. Aaaahahahahahaha
More still in the ground. Harvesting lots of cheery #tomatoes and #lettuces.

Some of my #lettuces growing in my #FoodGarden 👩‍🌾 I treated them & several other food plants with my homemade garden pests repellent. Smashed garlic cloves, immersed in water for minimum of 24 hrs. Keep refilling spray bottles with filtered water & use it til you don't smell strong garlic smells. Throw spent crushed garlic into your flower beds.

Today was last harvest of the spring lettuces. They have fed me lunch every day since early March. New seeds will be staggered in planting indoors over the next 3 weeks for transplant outdoors after the heat lets up (early Sept). #Gardening #gyo #GrowFood #GrowFoodFromSeeds #Lettuces
