  1. Who else has noticed this? Sometimes you help people learn something, and then they turn around and use it to damage you or your brand.

  2. Cool to meet some Mastodon peeps on #FirstCTI26

For everyone who couldn't attend, those were my main learnings:

    • automate everything, clicking and context switches costs time: e.g. cool idea was Mispbrowserextension for Firefox

    • feedback loop everything: for example, you can feed that "benign/false positive/true positive" button from your SOC back intro your CTI. Simple & effective

    • show the value of your tech to management: e.g. how many attacks have you prevented? How big were the costs for that incident in other companies?

    • random characters (and a legitimate looking link) in a CTI pdf might be an attack on your AI => check out CTI poisoning attacks

  4. Last month, I became aware of #GitHub #agentic #workflows. I succeeded in creating one, to extract structured data out of release notes, something that was done before manually.

Here are my #lessonslearned that might benefit you.

  5. Fun fact: Friday’s Latin name is Friyay, which loosely translates to “Get me the hell out of here!”

  6. Today I learned a painful but valuable lesson about the importance of spatial awareness and operational safety. 🚗💥

I accidentally slammed my penis in the car door, and while it was a high-impact setback, it forced me to pivot, embrace resilience, and truly understand the meaning of "crushing it" in a fast-paced environment.

In life and in business, we often face unexpected bottlenecks. It’s not about the initial impact; it’s about how you recover, scale your healing process, and ensure you have the right protocols in place to prevent future friction.
    📈

Grateful for this opportunity to grow (and eventually heal). Remember: always double-check your surroundings before closing a deal—or a door.

  9. @[email protected] I am thrilled to announce that I have recently navigated a high-pressure situation that required immediate, decisive action and a complete pivot in my personal resource management. This experience has taught me the importance of agility, rapid response, and the necessity of a fresh start when facing unexpected internal challenges. #GrowthMindset #Agility #Resilience #LessonsLearned

  10. @dvk I’ve just had a major realization about professional standards. 🚨

Let’s be real: this is fundamentally unacceptable. We need to do better as a community. It’s time to pivot towards excellence and re-evaluate our core values. 📈

    Agree? 👇

  11. CW: Kagi LinkedIn translator (uses LLM)

I’m currently navigating a high-friction physical integration challenge with our document reproduction hardware. It’s a painful reminder of the importance of workplace safety and operational alignment. Grateful for the support of the HR and maintenance teams as we work toward a swift resolution.

  12. Battery hold downs: should they look like that?

    Jan 11: power steering flush.
Jan 20: gas stop, hood pop, quick scan.

My battery was tipped off its tray and leaning into the radiator. No warning lights. No drama. Just a snapped ground wire and a lesson delivered in public, under fluorescent lights.

New habit: the battery wiggle check. Two seconds while the pump runs. If it moves, the hold-downs are not doing their job.

  17. #American #history #LessonsLearned:

On December 14 and 27, 1763, a group of thugs known as the Paxton Boys—similar to ICE—murdered twenty Conestoga tribes people around Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Outraged, #BenjaminFranklin went #pamphleteering in response.

    From the angry essay:

"If an Indian injures me, does it follow that I may revenge that Injury on all Indians? It is well known that Indians are of different Tribes, Nations and Languages, as well as the White People.

  18. Not all system failures stem from cyber threats - many originate from operational blind spots.

    This anecdote highlights:
    • Environmental risk to hardware
    • Lack of cross-domain awareness (IT vs industrial operations)
    • High-impact data loss without malicious intent

Operational security and resilience include physical handling, environmental controls, and basic technical literacy - not just software defenses.

What non-cyber failure modes have caused the most disruption in your environment?

  23. Finally got another game in! A loss 😅

    #BattleReport #Warhammer40k
    #AdeptaSororitas vs #Votann

Round 1: 10VP for opponent. Made a mistake with screening, opening up my deployment zone.

Round 2: opponent deep strikes hearthguards in and kills my most important units. Vahlgons enable a comeback but fail their 9er charge even with a 5er miracle dice. 🙈

    #LessonsLearned

    - Screening is important
    - Infiltrate is necessary in an army

  28. Ich finde es ja immer wieder klasse, wie hier auf #Mastodon oder anderen Teilen des #Fediverse jeder immer das letzte Wort haben muss.

Will mich ja gar nicht ausnehmen.
