Leo Express's weird new Przemyśl-Frankfurt (Main) train is finally running its full route after it got the open access approval to run in Poland literally on the day it started running from Bohumín (or was it the day after? I forgot) since yesterday. On the day Leo Express's Frankfurt (Main)-Prague-Przemyśl train started running shortened to Bohumín with connecting buses to Przemyśl due to a balance inquiry requested by PKPIC still being unresolved, Poland's railway regulator UTK issued a decision allowing them to run the route after all. The consist, hauled by a #Railpool #Siemens #Vectron Class 193 electric - branded ‘leo express’ - includes #TalgoVI cars that previously used to work #Talgo services in Spain. There’s also a #Bistro.

Leo Express nasadí od 30. dubna nové soupravy Talgo na linky Praha–Olomouc–Bratislava a Praha–Ostrava–Žilina–Prešov. Cestující mají čekat nízkopodlažní a bezbariérové řešení, velkorysou rozteč sedaček až jeden metr i v Economy, tichý oddíl a občerstvení až na místo. Jízdenky jsou v prodeji od 99 korun.

Když před patnácti lety začal konkurenční boj tří dopravců na lince z Prahy do Ostravy, českou železnici to hodně proměnilo a přilákalo i dost nových cestujících. Jenže tohle spojení v posledních letech stagnuje a ti stejní dopravci teď zaměřili svoje aktivity na polský trh. České dráhy provozují...

Delay not a big deal. Loads of space on board and friendly staff. But despite the carriages looking shiny and new, the seats were tired and uncomfortable, even in the 'Business class' that my #Interrail pass allowed me into.
#ProTip: because most people prefer window seats, when the seats are old, you'll often find the aisle cushions more comfy.

Die ersten 10 Stunden meines heutigen #CrossBorderRail Projektes von Hamburg nach Košice habe ich schon hinter mir.
Wer meine #bahn Geschichten kennt wird jetzt schon Übles vermuten, aber bisher läuft es erfreulich unaufgeregt.
Das Umsteigen in Pardubice war das einzige Mal, dass der Blutdruck etwas stieg, aber dank der Verspätung des Anschlusszuges wurde auch das gemeistert.
Das Ticket für die 8 Stunden Zugfahrt auf der zweiten Hälfte kostet nur ein Bruchteil der ersten 8 Stunden und kommt dazu auch mit kostenlosem Essen und Getränken.
Aber auch der ungarische Speisewagen als Bestandteil eines tschechischen Zuges war nicht schlecht.
Drückt die Daumen für die restliche Strecke.
