So, I've been playing around with a ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition for a bit.

Overall, I feel almost right at home with the X1 Carbon.

I wished I could highlight all the good things, about it, but frankly, it's mostly neck-in-neck with the 14-inch M4 Pro MacBook Pro.

That said, I may as well list out things that either laptops have missing.

What X1 Carbon doesn't have.

- Long battery life
- HDR display
- Smudge-resistant exterior
- Ability to dev for the Apple ecosystem
- Good speakers

Things that the MacBook doesn't have:

- Touch screen
- Screen real estate at the top (it's been replaced by a notch)
- Insanely lightweight (X1 Carbon is less than a kilogram in weight)
- screen folds out 180 degrees

A new coffee shop opened up at the one traffic light in town--it's got comfy chairs! They have limited parking, so it's polite to park on the street if you're staying for a bit.

My local diner (pretty much across the street-ish) is also a great place to hangout.

I need my laptop & power brick. And a caffeine source: Diet Dr Pepper or Tea.

Help me understanding x220 laptop batterys please.

• Battery reported bad by tlp and KDE with low capacity letft.
• Opened battery to bring one pair of cells (parallel) back up to 3,85 V like the other two pairs.
• Battery kind of good again 50% capacity. (4 hours reported yay!)
• Recalibrated with tlp so discharge until "empty"
• Empty seems to mean this capacity value calculated from the inboard chip?
• Voltage of "discharged" battery combined ca 11V, expected like 10V at least. (Full is at 12,5V ish reported by tlp)

Wouldn´t it make sense to discharge to 3,3V per cell then charge it back up and calculate the capacity from that process instead of stopping anywhere in the middle because that assumed capacity is at zero ?

@conamara after running the Laptop now for a few days without any upper charge limits set and now rebooting it, it seems to have mostly recovered and the capacity of the 2nd battery is now reported as 95% (which is closer to what I'd expect).

No EC reset needed!

The secondary #battery of my #LenovoThinkpad #T460s was completely dead, which somehow confused the whole battery management and it just turned off after 3 minutes, even when the primary battery still had a sufficient charge left.
Replaced now both and after 3 full charge/discharge cycles for initial calibration, #UPower reports the secondary battery now at only 77% capacity left, which I'd expected after 500-600 cycles or so.

Where do those numbers come from? UPower itself? Battery internal?
