  1. #Trump attorney Chris #Kise argued to NY Supreme Court Justice Arthur #Engoron, that regardless of what was in Trump's #financial statements, they did not make a material difference to bankers who approved #loans to Trump.

Kise says there was no testimony presented at trial by anyone at Trump #lender #DeutscheBank or other lenders that said they would have proceeded differently had they known Trump's accurate financial condition.

  2. #Ivanka said she hasn't worked at the #TrumpOrganization since Jan. 2017, but she has still received payments from financial interests in different aspects of the company.

#NYAG asked Ivanka about efforts by #Trump in 2011 to get financing for the redevelopment of the #Doral course. As we've heard before, the #TrumpOrg was shopping around before landing on #DeutscheBank as a #lender.

  3. (After lunch break, #Trump back on the stand, #NYAG Kevin Wallace resumed direct.)

Moved on to #DeutscheBank, as heard in testimony & evidence earlier in the trial, #Deutsche, the German #lender was Trump's largest creditor, & loaned him HUNDREDS of MILLIONS of dollars during the years at issue, 2011 to 2021.
Trump primarily dealt w/their private wealth management business.

  4. Wallace explained how the #financial statements were used. He tells a story of #Trump meeting w/a potential #lender, & the company sending an email afterward w/the statement attached & a note: “Hope you will be impressed.”

Wallace has moved on to why the #defendants concocted this #conspiracy. He argues that beyond just a place on the #ForbesBillionaireList, the defendants knew a high net worth was necessary to maintain #financial benefits, such as securing a #loan at a lower rate.

  5. Wow.
"The FCAC's 2020-21 COVID-19 #Financial Well-being Survey showed that approximately 2 per cent of #Canadians used an online non-bank lender or #PaydayLoan company in the previous 12 months."

Payday loans are crazy #expensive, often close to 60% p.a. (sixty!) if you include the fees. Charging above 60% is #criminal #usury in #Canada. However, loans of up to $1500 are exempt, so the typical payday loan #lender could charge even more.

  6. What a surprise - look who benefits from the emerging bank crisis #SVB #Silvergate #SignatureBank - Bank of America #BofA received deposits worth over $15B in recent days. The #lender benefitted from the collapse of three smaller banks due in part to its reputation as a more secure institution. bloomberg.com/news/articles/20

  7. This product is #awesome. For some definition of awesome. If I understand it correctly, you are supposed to #mortgage your #house to #speculate on #Bitcoin. 20% of any Bitcoin appreciation goes to your #lender. Plus 7.5% #interest p.a. on the #loan amount. If Bitcoin goes down, you lose 100%. What could go #wrong? #crypto
