Visited the recently re-opened (refurbished, redesigned etc) #Schumann house, the only surviving building where Robert and #ClaraSchumann lived together. They've gone for a clinically clean modern design with white drawers to pull to reveal some of the old documents, Whereas I prefer the more naturalistic recreations of 19th c. spaces like #LeightonHouse Most shocking though: there are only 3 #MusicalInstruments in the whole flat. Honestly. They raised 6 kids there, they must have had more?

I visited #LeightonHouse last autumn when it reopened, but may visit again:

1/5 Leighton House This was the London home of painter Frederic Leighton, 1st Baron Leighton (1830–1896), designed by George Aitchison as a combined home and studio. It's notable for its incorporation of tiles and other elements purchased in the Near East.

It's been open as a museum since 1929.
