  1. There's a lot of weirdness surrounding Bruce @Bot4Sale
He started studies at the ANU in 2013. By the time of the rape, he'd long since dropped out. Unqualified and inexperienced, he was employed as a "senior advisor" to the Minister of Defence. What's behind him getting that position? He was employed until after the rape (fired before Brittany Higgins made her allegation public).

There are whispers of hushed-up misbehaviour, well before the incident with Brittany. Who is protecting him. What were their plans?

The Toowoomba allegations emphasise the questions.

  2. More on the Tapscott connection:

The first two entries are said to be Bruce's father. The last one, his brother.

  3. The #Lehrmann family is reportedly prominent in the Southern US @martintheg
In Australia, I've seen reference to the #Tapscott family, who are influential in northern NSW and southern Qld. Evidence of that connection is increasingly hard to find, but the record hasn't been completely scrubbed. Bruce's own online presence is remarkably sparse.

It does seem that there were big plans for Bruce.

  4. Bruce certainly seems to be a protected species @Bot4Sale

There are no end of stories here for some enterprising journalist. For one; at the age of 23, with no experience and no qualifications, how did he become a "senior advisor" to Australia's Defence Minister?

  5. Bruce's father left him with a substantial trust fund. Enough for he and his sister to attend private school. His mother's family in Australia is also well-off. Whether the funds are shielded from consequences of his misdeeds, only time will tell.

  6. Justice Wigney said the full court also found that, based on the unchallenged findings by Justice Lee, Lehrmann “did turn his mind to whether Higgins was consenting to sex, was aware she was not consenting, but proceeded nonetheless”.

That's going to complicate any appeal.

  8. "Bruce Lehrmann will be able to appeal the result of his failed defamation case, after a Federal Court judge dismissed an application for him to pay a security of costs before any appeal goes ahead." - Pat Bell from the ABC

  9. Cost of Bruce Lehrmann's failed defamation case set at $2 million after court accepts lump sum nominated by Network Ten
    abc.net.au/news/2024-06-27/bru

tl;dr: Network 10 alleged Bruce Lehrmann raped Brittany Higgins in Parliament House. Bruce Lehrmann tried to misuse our Defamation laws to silence journalists, claiming they'd harmed his reputation. The court found that Bruce Lehrmann raped Brittany Higgins, therefore the network was telling the truth and that's a rare but powerful defence against charges of Defamation. Today, the court has ordered the slimy, RWNJ, rapist to pay Network Ten's court costs of $2 Million.

  10. Lehrmann files court appeal with no lawyers
    news.com.au/national/courts-la
Bruce Lehrmann, a second-year law student, has shocked the legal fraternity with the suggestion he will represent himself in his high-stakes Federal Court appeal.

Bruce Lehrmann is keen to engage in a battle of wits while unarmed.

  11. After losing his libel case against Australia's Network 10, Bruce Lehrmann has been ordered to pay the broadcaster's costs.

In addition, Lehrmann has to pay the journalist Lisa Wilkinson indemnity costs -- the full & actual amount.

  12. This won't mean anything to anyone outside Australia, but I, for one, am grateful to Justice Lee for introducing the word #Omnishambles into legal terminology and to described the situation as"Having escaped the lion's den, Mr #Lehrmann made the mistake of coming back for his hat," thereby creating the foundation for so many comedy routines and memes to come....

  13. I really don’t care about #benroberts and I find the #hwc thing fascinating. The #lehrmann thing is so disgusting on so many levels.

But guess what the common theme is for all of them. The #afp is massively incompetent. The guy who was in charge under #morrison is still there. #auspol
