  1. For #tunetuesday theme #legendaryguitarwork

Although he had several answers for this, but when Jimi Hendrix was asked how it felt to be the greatest living guitar player he said, "I don't know. Go ask Roy Clark."

  2. #tunetuesday I like to see who isn't mentioned for things like #legendaryguitarwork before I contribute. One of my favorites is Billy Gibbons.

Two underrated guitar heroes for this gravy's #TuneTuesday - Neil Giraldo and Steve Lukather:

  4. #TuneTuesday is looking for #LegendaryGuitarWork

One of the most astounding players. And this is, IMO, his greatest song. Parisienne Walkways is close.

  5. #TuneTuesday okay, real unfortunate album cover here, but if we’re talking #legendaryguitarwork I always think of Watermelon in Easter Hay off of Frank Zappa’s album, Joe’s Garage.

  6. #TuneTuesday and the theme #LegendaryGuitarWork this song features the last recorded solo by Mick Ronson and a couple of others thrown in for good measure.

  7. When I was in Jr. High in the 70s, I heard Stanley Clarke's "School Days" and was amazed that someone was playing chords on a bass and soloing like a lead instrument. Here he is last month, still as funky as ever

  8. Campbell starts his solo at 2:11
and does a remarkable job not getting distracted while surrounded by his peers.

In the 1950s, ‘How High the Moon’ sounded incredible. And this was way before Jeff Beck had 97 pedals and digital recording

  10. Oh, and for a slightly more up to date bit of #LegendaryGuitarWork for #TuneTuesday, here's Johnny Marr doing only what he can with How Soon Is Now.

Marr pops up in many youtube clips talking about how Jansch influenced him, so that's grounds enough to feature him too. Along with, you know, being Johnny Marr.

  11. This concert, this performance, this solo is the only reason I wish I was 10 years older. Or I had access to a time machine.
Until that happens, please enjoy the Bigger, Longer, Uncut video of The Masterpiece (yes, capitals) in @jacklaridian's #LegendaryGuitarWork in #TuneTuesday, hosted by Kitty:

  12. Metal Fatigue - Allan Holdsworth

"Criminally unknown and underappreciated, Allan Holdsworth is one of the greatest musicians ever to pick up the electric guitar." -Daniel Gioffre review of the album Metal Fatigue on AllMusic. 💯

You may have heard him playing with Soft Machine, Gong, The New Tony Williams Lifetime... Allan once joked, We're making 10s of dollars! His first solo album was called IOU b/c not enough $$ to finish it.

  13. I could choose dozens of artists for this #TuneTuesday theme of #LegendaryGuitarWork but I'm going back to a musician's favourite: #GaryMoore

Many know his later blues work, but I grew up listening to his 80s hard rock albums. This song I choose has not 1, not 2, but 3 guitar solos, and a bass solo thrown in for good measure! Melodic soloing at its best and also some pyrotechnics (tame for Gary's standards) in the outro solo.
