That’s that then. #LegacyOfYu campaign finished, 7 wins to 1 loss, so I got to read the real ending.

I need to move onto something else now, maybe the story mode of Under Falling Skies.

Started a new #LegacyOfYu campaign in the hope of winning it 7-0 or 7-1.

I just won my second game by the skin of my teeth, all my villagers were destroyed, barely managed to contain the barbarian threat, and the flood was right up my bum 😅

Current score is 2-0. I dread to think what disasters the game is gonna through at me in round 3.

So, I’m 5-2 up in this #LegacyOfYu campaign.

I’m starting to suspect I’m doing something wrong. Either that, or I have discovered a strategy to make it really easy.

Legacy of Yu

I had one more loss I could take, so my only goal that game was to remove the barbarian fort.

Managed to get a draw that let me defeat the fort after two hands. And then pushed the canal. Not having to deal with the fort, I managed to win the last game.

Overall I had a good experience. I like that the campaign is resettable. If you are looking for a card based, resource management story game, I recommend it.

Legacy of Yu Campaign report

After two losses in a row, I got the hang of the game and won the next six. One more win would finish the campaign, but at this point it was too easy.

So I used all three optional rules to increase the difficulty. Add in promo barbarian, start with two barbarians, start with two less cards in the deck.

Proceeded to lose the next three games.

Played game 4/? of Legacy of Yu. Second victory in a row, after the initial two losses. It was a very close game, almost didn’t make it the final round. Not certain if I’ll be able to win the next one, it’ll be tough.

Really enjoying this solo campaign game.

Do I now restart or shall I attempt Horizons of Spirit Island instead?

Part of me wants to jump back into Yu, because the mechanics and strategies are still in my mind and I’m still bitter at that damn flood.

The other part wants to take a break and learn Spirit instead.

Played my second game of Legacy of Yu.

Once again overwhelmed by barbarians.

Played my third game of Legacy of Yu. Focused on getting workers every turn. Built up resources after the third canal. Crushed it.

Definitely enjoying this game. Recommended for an interesting solo campaign experience.

I only won because the game felt so sorry for me and gave me tons of stuff that made life much, much easier.

I /almost/ built the whole damn canal in #LegacyOfYu and I’d managed the barbarians well, until a story beat cost me 1 damage, and that was enough to flood my efforts.

Mistakes were made, I clearly needed a variety of resources. And more villagers. So many more workers.

Was overrun by barbarians.

A resettable solo legacy board game about constructing canals.

Immediately want to try again.
