  7. It really annoys me when Marxists just can't give any credit to Anarchists. I was listening to FREE today, which I really enjoy, but the conversation really bothered me because they were talking about anarchist ideas (no patriarchy, non-heirarchical, Bookchin!) and yet they didn't mention anarchism or even hint at it. Instead Clara just mentions Marx.

  9. ✊ Red Salutes & Solidarity
As an atheist and anarchist, I extend my heartiest congratulations to the winning candidates of DMK, VCK, CPI, and CPIM. Your victory in these constituencies is a vital stand for social justice! 🚩

Also, a big congratulations to Vijay brother and TVK for a historic debut. Here's to a future of secularism, equality, and the fight for the marginalized! ✊🖤❤️

  13. To those confused about my posts about #anarchism and #socialism or #communism quick lesson on the three:

anarchism: the ideology of absence of hierarchy (no gods, no masters, if you will)
communism: the ideology of the classless, stateless society
socialism: the ideology of a state that provides for all, held up by all

They are the same, just differing in details. #redscare propaganda tries to divide them so that they dont form #leftunity which would be the end of #capitalism

  15. To all my friends here who want #socialism, #communism, #leftunity, #anarchism

please remember that we are all comrades. we should not infight. It makes no sense to get angry at one another over details.

Additionally, please remember that you will know people that I dont and vice versa. Please introduce people you think will form a productive #leftist network.

We can do it. We just have to walk.

  17. 12: The abstraction of doing into labour is the weaving of capitalism

In this chapter Holloway turns to Marx. #uniteTheLeft #leftunity

Jokes aside, while in the previous chapter he is insistent on the way from the particular instead of attacking the whole, in this chapter we take a look from a marxist perspective.

I think most anarchists don't necessarly REJECT Marxism per se, but see it as "an acid which dissolves the social synthesis of capitalism".

We are especially focusing on the dual nature of doing (and labour). And how it relates to (I think) alienation theory.

We alienate ourselves from the "products" we produce and the labour or producing activity itself.

This alienated labour is how we ourselves produce our masters. (Quote from Marx)

  19. I don't use the term #leftunity because there's a lot of discourse around it, but I do believe that on the ground, in the streets, and on many particular issues, #communist and #anarchist people can work together. I think that better terms might be #unitedfront or #leftalliance, as unity as a term papers over meaningful differences in the two political ideologies.

I think that #anarchists as a whole, could stand to be more critically supportive of past and current socialist experiments around the world, while #communists (#marxistleninists and #maoists) should accept that there is sound anarchist theory that might not be reflected in many self-identified anarchists. After all, how many Leninists can honestly claim to have done their own reading?

  20. "If raw economies of scale are the deciding factor in struggle, then meaningful social change can only come through proletarian uprisings or movements of sufficient size. Hence anything that isn't building up working-class institutions and/or The Party is a waste of time.

But if capitalism is riddled with inefficiencies and potential exploits, then actively being able to search through them to find critical points of leverage is far more effective because it enables force multipliers and attack vectors which can give you capacity on par if not exceeding mass movements."

Cheers to whoever posted this. It's an excellent essay. Yes it's long but it needs that.

  21. Revolutionary. Anticapitalist. And for the benefit of the entire working class. This is the tripartite definition of the #anticapitalist left — those individuals and organizations whom we call comrades and organize with. All other focuses and assertions are secondary, and differences within this definition only bring more specialization and understanding of a revolution whose nature and outcome will depend on the material conditions of the place and time.

This is #LeftUnity. Change my mind.

  22. Raddle had a post asking if #LeftUnity was desirable.

I think yes, to a point.

If unity means "Everyone agrees that diversity of tactics and diversity of thought are good" then yes. Its a good thing.

If it means "Everyone does the same thing, and thinks the same way", then no.

Movements and societies function best without #monocultures, for almost the same reason monocultures in ecosystems as a whole are dangerous.

Monocultures of thought lead to single attacks (ie, diseases) being able to wipe out the entire movement (ie, crops).

Think "#DecapitationStrikes". These are impossible if you have many groups attacking the same problem (#Capitalism), via myriad tactics. The system cannot cope, because capitalism is, at it's heart, a monoculture, which is prone to identical attacks being able to bring it down, for a time.

And I say "For a time", because capitalism, like any other ecosystem, eventually adapts, and recovers stronger, when subjected to the same tactic over and over (See: How the ruling class has turned #protests into nothing more than fitness walks).

But, if you have 10 different types of attacks all working to bring down the monoculture of capitalism, then it cannot adapt quickly enough. However, with diversity of tactics and diversity of thought, we can adapt much faster than the system of capitalism.

One type of attack gets removed, there are still 9 others going at it, and soon, 10 again.

But, if we have 10 groups, using the same tactic, and all following the same #dogma, then the dominating system can easily shut that down, and halt any forward progress.

  23. CW: drug joke

This is why we cannot have #LeftUnity. Like, fer real.
