Root: The Homeland Expansion all-in pledge finally fulfilled. Amusing to think that it was cheaper to just go all-in than it was to get everything but the base game. Guess I'll have a copy to sell or give away!

Taught and played the Root base game yesterday. I was the Woodland Alliance, up against the Marquis de Cat and the Eyrie Dynasty. The birds got off to a solid start, but a nasty ambush card pushed the Eyrie into turmoil. This event was later repeated in the exact same manner, leaving me teaming up with the Eyrie for most of the game to try to wrangle the cats into control. Unfortunately, I wound up one action short of a points victory before the Marquis de Cat achieved a domination victory.

Does anyone in #boardgames Mastodon have a good tutorial/playthrough of Vast Mysterious Manor they could point me too? It was one of the first games I bought and we immediately put it away for like two years because neither I (brand new to board games) or my partner (resident Rules Maestro) could figure out how to play correctly.

This Black (of space) Friday, I’m getting a solo game of #Arcs in to learn it and prepare for an upcoming game night. The ruleset is by Shipple over on BGG (https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/3378766/page/1) and is designed for solo v 2 bots or 2 players v 1 bot. It felt a bit strong at first, but play evened out over time.
So I’ve got the rules down (mostly…), and now it’s time to learn the teach!

Played some great #boardgames this last weekend with #Fort by #LederGames being my group’s favorite. The scoring pushes you to build quickly, but it’s punishing if someone maxes their fort quickly! All in all though we enjoyed it, and it brings it back good memories of childhood.
I also introduced them to the super cool mini-game set Tokyo Jidohanbaiki by #JordanDraper and (one of my favorites) #TussieMussie by #ElizabethHargrave

Und zum Abschluss dann noch #ARCS von #ColeWehrle, erschienen bei #LederGames. Und nachdem mich die erste Partie am Tisch vor zwei Wochen zu viert noch etwas skeptisch zurück ließ, hat diese jetzt vollkommen überzeugt. Jetzt bin ich auch völlig gehyped und freue mich auf die Kampagne 🥳
Nur das mit dem Würfeln muss ich noch üben

I just realized that I'm missing a significant hastag in my Mastodon list.
I did allow myself some time from moving this weekend to open up, sleeve, and organize #ARCS from #LederGames this weekend.
What I got to see of the campain along the way (without spoiling myself) has me EAGER to get it to the table for my group.

Zum Auftakt der #KühnCon gibt es heute #oath mit der Spielegruppe, diesmal aber zu fünft. Außerdem haben die Deluxe Components Einzug gehalten. Schon sehr cool. Gleich geht's los! I love Root but haven’t played it in quite a while. Now that I’m starting to get game nights going again I’ve decided to dust Root off. I now have 8 factions so there’s plenty of choice and hirelings and 4 clockwork automated players for lower player counts.

Am letzten Abend gab es wieder #oath. Seid einer Woche reden wir Exilanten davon, dass der Kanzler um jeden Preis gestürzt werden muss... Ja, hm, dieses Bündnis hat sie erste Runde nicht überlebt. Keiner hat sich das Schwarze unter den Fingernägeln gegönnt. Und die Kanzlerin hat zwar ihren Regierungssitz verloren, und bangen müssen, aber am Ende doch ihr Amt gesichert.
Es war hervorragend 😁
