Big Generator: Cobh’s Night Electric

Yes and...

I'm convinced most pets see the flickering that humans can't see, but those of us who have sensory issues may also perceive them. The solution is to get a bulb with a higher frequency rate, but that's hard to get.

I've never used these but the NY Times recommends some: https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/best-led-lightbulb/

In addition, LED bulbs tend to be made more cheaply than before, and you generally want to look for bulbs that are made for "Enclosed Fixtures" such as light fixtures that do things like light diffusion, otherwise they may not last nearly as long.

I think there's a whole other discussion around smart lights.

Finally upgraded the lights in my smaller studio space (where I shoot products under 24" in size) to all LED lighting, including 4 RGB lights. This is where I photograph about 60% of the coffee and espresso gear we show on CoffeeGeek.

Includes:
- 250W RGB COB light with 36" softbox
- 150W Bi-Colour COB light w 24" softbox
- Two 70W LCD RGB Panel lights on a twin stand (behind the difuser on the left)
- 16" softbox with 4 bulbs, that I converted from florescent to 20W (x4) RGB Full Spectrum bulbs. It gets crazy bright too.
