I hacked together a stand from scrap wood so I could adjust the derailleur more easily and it actually worked (mostly) and now the gears shift like butter.
Also mounted the milk crate over the panniers using longer machine screws and big washers. The mounting holes lined up perfectly with holes in the crate.
ALSO added more reflective things because I very much want to continue living.

I bought my #lectric ebike from a corp in AZ, USA for 750$ about 5 yrs ago. It now has 7,000 miles on it and I've spend about another 600$ on replacement battery and tires, brakes etc.
It is amazing that an ebike and some saddle bags can replace most trips by car but I'm lucky and have not need to bring anything home that is big, heavy or far away.

So this kinda puts me in a weird space. The "saran wrap" style plastic they used to protect this head unit seems to have melted chunks of it onto the thing pretty hard. But the actual screen is fine, and not affected. The housing AROUND It, however, looks like aged shit. This isn't a hard enough issue for me to start calling #Lectric support, but this tarnishes an otherwise positive first impression.
(The box it shipped in, too. had so much glue that I had to rip the thing apart like an animal into chunks.)

Just some images from the #ebike ride yesterday. It was during the heat of the day so most reasonable animals were napping.
1st trip with the new battery. Last one died after 4600 miles on the #lectric XP v1.0
There were 2 burn areas along the trail, assumed to be caused by homelessness. It should remind us of the cost of #homelessness. It might be cheaper to have #UBI and a living wage.

Word of advice to anyone thinking about selling on eBay: don't.
Months ago, I sold a spare part for an ebike, the package got lost in transit, and eBay insisted I never shipped it at all, despite having receipts, tracking numbers, and photos of the package.
To add insult to injury, they just took down the listing (I didn't even know it was still up) because Lectric (ebike company) thinks the part is counterfeit. I literally bought the part directly from them. It doesn't actually matter since I don't even have it anymore, but this is clearly Lectric trying to kill the market for used parts.
Just use craigslist. And don't buy Lectric.

Just finished putting on new brake pads.
For those who care about this. #lectric V1.0 #bike, 4,000miles roughly flat city miles.The brakes are tektro A-F160/R140
the brake pads are held in with a cotter pin,~0.1in;2.7mm wide.
The numbers on the old pads were; A10.1 B10B6840The new pads were shimano BP-M05-RX; resin pad W/O fin; M05-RX; IBPM05RXA; 22LT0001077

the #ebike has a fresh charge, the #waterbottles have fresh water and there is some cool stuff on #craigslist to go check out; its time to get the #lectric ebike and go for a #ride. Its only about 7 miles away but because of the limited #bikelanes #bikepaths and #biketrails in the USA it will be a 20 mile ride. good thing I like my #bike and need the #exercise.
