What is design-based research in learning sciences? A good question that William Sandoval discussed at length today at EPFL. I keep from this talk the possibility to produce “local theories” from DBR. Those theories are as general as the body of empirical work that links them to practice, but may still be beneficial to the design of intervention for contexts in which they were studied.
