So i got this sentence in Duolingo and it translates into "You are my Hero (Hero as a female here)", but i found it funny cause the sentence sounds like "You are my Heroin" and then i started researching what Heroin means in french.

Apparently (according to google) "héroïne" means both Hero (female) and Heroine, so i instantly asked both my french buddies and they were like "Huh, that's odd" and nothing more...

Like, did they never notice?
Why is it the same word???

Why #Anki kinda stinks for language learning. I don't know the content maker well at all, but his list is everything I found frustrating and ineffective about the app/program. It really derailed my novice Spanish studies. I don't recommend it anymore, _especially_ to folks with #adhd issues. He's inspiring me to get back to my old notebook methods, and I want to check out his routines further as well.

Pleased to have passed 500 consecutive days of doing #Duolingo lessons. Between learning #French and practicing #German (and sometimes both together[1]), I have found the app very useful in helping with vocabulary and basic proficiency.

@britt as for the hashtags, Learning + XLanguage seems to work well (#LearningFrench I guess, although I haven’t used that one)
I’ve posted before about some cool apps that are way better than Duolingo, for example, Clozemaster. Have you tried it?
To start talking, I take conversation lessons on italki. It’s not the best but it works :)
