well, so, I was separated from my CTO position... in a way that is just not ok.

my mistake was trusting a friend, which led to verbal agreements, leaving behind 2 decades of experience dealing with corporations, where everything must be done in writing.

one lesson I did not forget was keeping evidence of everything. and I am happy that I did.

before I go later with details about what happened, let the lesson be "talking about doing business, do not trust anyone. keep every agreement in writing and signed, even if your business partner lives under the same roof as you", and IMO that is not an exaggeration.

fortunately my former business partner does not live under the same roof as myself, but has a romantic relationship with someone who does, and somehow they also became involved in the business...

Tea coming later, eventually...

as of this week, I am yet again unemployed. anyone looking for a senior software engineer?

Note to self:
When you install a dozen HDDs in a server with drive trays without indicators, it might be a good idea to write down which drive with which serial number is installed in what slot.
I just had to unscrew 5 of 14 HDDs to find the right one to remove!!
I normally like my Fractal Design Define 7 XL, but today... 🤬

I saw the #film Wicked Little Letters a month ago on a flight. ALL the swear words were blanked out. 🤣
It's a gentle film, but let's just say swearing plays a central part in the story. Watched it again on Netflix, heard all the bad words. 😎

I am so annoyed at Past Me for not keeping an accurate timeline as I wrote. Creating and matching a timeline during revisions is finicky, annoying work.

I’m a bit of a moron this morning. I enabled the control network on my SQ Dante card and apparently that brings up a DHCP server. 2 hours later and a complete network reset, I find that simply disabling that feature lets my network come back up as normal. Now I get to reconfigure my whole network from scratch ... ARRRGH! #LearnFromMyMistakes #Networking #livesound #livesoundengineer

Public service announcement, just in case anyone had forgotten: Covid is still out there and getting it still sucks. I didn’t wear a mask on a busy ferry last week and I am absolutely paying for it now by being stuck inside/sick/frustrated and having to cancel and rearrange all sorts of fun things this week. If you’re in a crowded space, FFP2 or N95 masks are definitely still worth wearing! #Covid #masks #LearnFromMyMistakes
