These leaning towers of Bologna were once part of a skyline of dozens of similar buildings, constructed by merchant families in medieval times. Nowadays only a few still stand, and the 12th century Garisenda tower is planned to undergo a 10 year project to prevent it from collapsing. See more:

A visit to #Pisa #Italy today! This was the starting point of my short train ride across Italy…Pisa…Florence…#Venice.
Only a few days in Pisa but that was enough to see the famous #LeaningTower and climb it! The views from the top are great. It’s a strange sensation walking round and round the steps heading up but due to the tilt you feel off balanced!
Did the obligatory photo of holding up the tower.
And walked the streets searching for amazing gelato to eat.
