#Canadian #election databases use "canary traps"—and they work
In a world awash in high-tech #security tools like #passkeys , quantum-safe algorithms, & public-key #cryptography , it can be refreshing to get back to the simple things... like a good old-fashioned #canary trap.
The canary trap is a simple tool often used to identify #leakers or #doubleagents. To make one, you simply share a document, image, or DB but make tiny changes that are unique to each recipient.

What's the point of these video games and tech leakers, anyway? Apart from journos that think highly of them, so much so that they always make sure to include them in their faux news, I just don't get it.
It's painfully obvious that they're employees that have zero respect for their job and the contract that they signed with the corporation from which they extract said leaks.
Also, you're never going to hear about indies and awesome things, just the usual Resident Evil re-re-remake and identical same-same but not different at all iPhone. Yeesh! 🫤
