It was a surprise to me to see that they still include the SharedConstants.VERSION_STRING in Legacy Console Edition, even though it's not used anywhere.
The version reflects the Java Edition equivalent it seems, although I think it might be off by revision? I thought Switch Edition was 1.12.2.

I agree traditional capitalism will ultimately fail. Go read my posts about Labour Capitalism as an alternative to Traditional Capitalism. Labour Capitalism pools income producing property (IPP) as Commons, to the exclusion of private ownership of IPP, through the use of LCEs. In time, 2/3 of full-time US workers could receive real growth wages and Nordic-style social benefits using LCEs. -
@paninid
There is a better way.Read my posts on Mastodon for #LCE or #LabourCapitalism. At another poster's suggestion, I'm going to put that and more in a Wikipedia page. Yes, there is a better way to perform Capitalism, keep all the healthy market mechanisms, and restore the "Commons."
-
@JeSuisUnHombre
The workers get paid industry level wages by the LLC. Additionally, they can be paid an augmented wage by the LCE directly or through the LLC. The LCE pays the Nordic-style benefits. You want the LLC run as a business. You don't want it run by the LCE. Non-profits are horrible business people. -
@JeSuisUnHombre No, the net profits accumulated in the LCE are the Commons to be divided among several disparate groups.
-
It's not just a foundational document, it determines and pays benefits to augment workers' pay. It also replicates other LCEs to do the same for other workers. It can form other LLCs for other businesses. Workers do not run any business. The LLC is run by real business people. The workers have input into management at each level. But the workers main goal is to stop accumulation of power and property by management.
-
@JeSuisUnHombre
If you read some of my other posts, you'll understand that traditional capitalists gave capitalism a bad reputation by starting with individual ownership of income producing property (which I call IPP) and destroying the concept of the Commons. The LCE reintroduces the idea of the Commons. As I've said before, If capitalism had been based on the Commons 400 years ago, capitalism would have grown in an entirely different direction.

The LCE and the LLC together can sell products at a lower than market price, underselling traditional corporations who must go for the most profits. The LLC will provide higher wages than traditional corporations and Nordic-style social security benefits to the workers of the LLC. Remember, there are no shareholders to pay net-profits to and no stakeholders who can make demands on the LCE or LLC. -
@JeSuisUnHombre
An efficient market economy is necessary for a country the size of the United States. A market economy isn't the problem. Going after the most net profits by corporations who are owned by individual shareholders is the problem. The LCE gets rid of shareholders by not having any and by specific mention in its articles of incorporation, it does not have to go for the most net profits. -
@JeSuisUnHombre
Get the idea of cooperative out of your mind. The LCE (non-profit) is set up in two parts. 1) the LCE, but it has no workers or owners and 2) an LLC (for profit) which is wholly owned by the LCE. All of the profits of the LLC go the LCE. With respect to the workers, the LLC operates as a normal business with one important exception: workers have input in the distribution of property and supervisory powers (hiring and firing) of the LLC.

You're absolutely correct (except for the ownership part). Go read my posts on Labour Capitalism and the use of LCEs. -
@rauder @FantasticalEconomics @turtle_green @SteveJonesnono1
You can look at the pool of amassed money and property similarly to a resource or a Commons with disparate groups wanting access to the resources: the LLC, the present employees of the LLC, past employees of the LLC with pension rights, the LCE itself, and potential LCE replicate spinoffs. These problems are engendered in Elinor Östrum's "Governing The Commons."
-
@rauder @FantasticalEconomics @turtle_green @SteveJonesnono1
All managers and officers carry on day to day activities; however, power over property distribution and personnel is shared with employee representatives at all levels.An LCE will amass large amounts of property and income to be allocated to disparate groups within the organization. Each group is represented by different sets of directors.

@rauder @FantasticalEconomics @turtle_green @SteveJonesnono1
The only source is me. I started looking at this several months ago, thinking I couldn't come up with a better way to compete with capitalism. But I was shocked with what I found. It's completely viable that's the good news. The bad news is it will take at least two generations to make difference. I wish that we could have a lot of debate about this. -
@rauder @FantasticalEconomics @turtle_green @SteveJonesnono1
6-Allow control and management of the entity by guilds and worker representatives;
7-Can potentially help worker's coops and small businesses;
8-Can potentially be used for civic causes; and
9-Replicate spinoff entities that do all the above or buy up existing companies and convert them into LCEs.This can be done under current federal and state laws within the US economy.
-
@rauder @FantasticalEconomics @turtle_green @SteveJonesnono1
A Labour Capitalism Entity (LCE) will:1-Give workers better wages;
2-Give workers Nordic-style social security benefits;
3-Restore the "Commons" property;
4-Reverse the accumulation of income producing property in the wealthy;
5- Outcompete traditional capitalists in a market economy while not having a mandate to make the most profit possible; (cont.) -
@jackofalltrades
We need to establish a new capitalism based on Labour Capitalism which counters 400 years of traditional capitalism. -
@dbattistella
Capitalist exploitation has traditionally (for four hundred years) been done by individuals who accumulate wealth and demand the most profits possible.There is a way to stop accumulation of wealth and net profits and provide better wages and security for workers. That's the good news. The bad news is that it will take at least two generations to do that through Labour Capitalism.
