🙂 We got some good news today for #NordicSemiconductor, while Q1 was down as expected and guided, the CEO shared a very positive outlook for Q2 with an expected +54% to +81% increase. The investors agree and pushed the share price up more than 30% today.

This quote popped into my head as I was thinking about all the recent #layoffs and what led so many companies down this miserable path.
Yet, it is hard to not feel like the #layoff processes used are a bit malicious, callous, and cruel.
Do better, dear leaders.

Companies thinking they are re-asserting their power in the employer-employee relationship by these callous, needless layoffs are going to get a rude awakening:
1) Laid-off employees were potential clients/customers/vendors
2) Employees are human beings first and foremost and will remember how they were treated
3) Workers across every industry now see why unions and having a collective voice is a vital worker protection.
4) The stain against employer reputation will last - people are talking and sharing their experiences online. -
Layoffs have become such a common practice for reducing expenses in the short term, that managers overlook the fact that it brings about more challenges than benefits. The dismissal of employees results in the loss of time and resources invested in their training, their knowledge, along with the connections and expertise they have established in the workplace. And none of them will return... because you pissed them off.

A reminder to companies who are hiring, people from outside the US and Canada have been also affected by the latest #layoffs so don’t limit your hiring to just two countries, you have now an opportunity to acquire talented people from all over the world so seize it.
