  1. "Bell Bottom Blues" is a song written by #EricClapton and #BobbyWhitlock, and performed by #DerekAndTheDominos. It dealt with Clapton's #unrequitedLove for #PattieBoyd, the wife of his friend #GeorgeHarrison, and appeared on the 1970 double album #LaylaAndOtherAssortedLoveSongs. Issued as a single, backed with "Keep on Growing", the song reached number 91 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1971. A re-release backed with "Little Wing" peaked at number 78 on the same chart.

  2. "Layla" is a song written by #EricClapton and #JimGordon, originally recorded with their band #DerekAndTheDominos, as the thirteenth track from their only studio album, #LaylaAndOtherAssortedLoveSongs (1970). Its contrasting #movements were composed separately by Clapton and Gordon. The piano part has also been controversially credited to #RitaCoolidge, Gordon's girlfriend at the time.

  3. Bobby Whitlock

Another Domino falls? Derek and the Dominoes keyboard player, harmony vocalist, and more often than not co-writer Bobby Whitlock passed away at the age of 77.

Duane Allman, Carl Radle, Tom Dowd, Jim Gordon, and now Bobby Whitlock. Everyone who had anything to do with Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs except Eric Clapton is gone.

This makes me sad. Rest in peace, Bobby Whitlock. One of the most soulful voices I’ve ever had the good fortune to hear.
