The focus on growth also stifles #innovation as #capital is not invested in providing #useful #services through #profitable #businesses. The #markets fail to penalize #companies for #destroying #products to chase more revenue or for #laying off #workers when #growth slows. Until #investors prioritize good businesses over growth, this cycle of boom and bust will continue.
