ich denke ich spreche für viele Nutzer wenn ich sage, bitte programmiert diesen Fehler als Standard Ansicht für den Private Space, man kann Apps auf den homescreen ziehen und man muss nicht immer bis ans ende der App-Liste scrollen.
das muss doch gehen ????

I think I speak for many users when I say, please program this error as the default view for the private space, you can drag apps to the home screen and you don’t always have to scroll to the end of the app list.
That has to go ????

Ja, ich benutze auch seit einiger Zeit den #Lawnchair Launcher und bin eigentlich recht zufrieden damit. Davor war lange Zeit der Nova Launcher mein Favorit. Bei Nova kommt man aber nicht ins Vertrauliche Profil unter #GrapheneOS .

I've been happily using #KISSLauncher for years but I've recently started to feel the need to try out something with a bit more features, in particular when it comes to widgets. So I gave the standard #Android launcher a go, as well as #Lawnchair, #MurineLauncher and a few others. Got disappointed really fast. It seems none of those have unified search?!

Finished the basics of my #Stargate inspired #Android homescreen 🤓 Just need to figure out the animations but setup and theming are in place

I installed the useful app #Privamatic from #FDroid which rates your privacy settings on #Android and gives you actionable improvement tips: https://f-droid.org/packages/com.techtrest.privamatic/
It suggested to replace #NovaLauncher with @lawnchairapp since Nova was sold to a private company in April that started introducing ads. The open source #Lawnchair can import Nova settings files, so moving was pretty smooth.

I finally got off my lazy ass and deleted Nova Launcher off of my phone now that they added Facebook trackers to it. :blobcorgimeltsob:​ I know I should've done it way sooner but I've used Nova for like a decade so it was hard to say goodbye.

I switched to Lawnchair and it's been pretty nice. :blobyeengrin:​ I miss being able to have my default screen be in the middle instead of all the way to the left, but I got Neo Feed working so now if I swipe to the left at least something is there.

As with many of you, I've been using Nova on #android for a long time, and was dismayed to see that its new owners have added ads to the launcher. It seems that Lawnchair is a popular place for Nova refugees to land, so I'm giving that a try. Didn't take more than about 5 minutes to get the basic home screen comfortable for me, so that's a good sign. We'll see how it goes.

@gimsieke Ich habe fast alles in Ordnern/Kategorien geordnet. So komme mit 2 schnellen Klicks zu jeder App. Hübscher und einfacher ist dieses System, wenn ich die Ordner mit einem Icon maskieren kann.

good launchers on google play are paid *and* spyware. #fdroid has a ton of lookalike "minimalistic" launchers, which are quite unusable IMO.

it's been a few years since i've used the default #samsung launcher, but i still remember how good the workflow was: important apps on the home screen, all apps in drawer neatly organized into folders.

I have enjoyed using Nova Launcher for many years. With the sale and addition of multiple trackers, I will no longer be using the launcher.

Den #Lawnchair habe ich mir doch noch angesehen. Er sieht wie ein "normaler" Launcher aus. Aber Ordnern konnte ich kein Icon zuordnen.

Dann kann ich auch beim #Poco-Launcher bleiben. Dieser ist eigentlich nicht schlecht. Mich stören hauptsächlich zwei Dinge an ihm. Der optische Bounce-Effekt. Wenn man in einem Widget scrollt, ist das störend. Und Ordnern kann man kein Icon zuordnen, was der leichten Identifizierung sehr nützlich wäre, nicht immer die kleinen Texte unter den Ordnern entziffern zu müssen.

Das neue Handy war der Anlass, endlich Alternativen zum #NovaLauncher auszuprobieren, bevor der Launcher den Bach runtergeht.

- Der #NiagaraLauncher ist ohne Kauf oder Abo nur ein stylischer App Drawer ohne weitere Funktion.

- Der #Kvaesitso Launcher könnte für mich funktionieren. Aber ohne sortierte Apps, in Ordnern oder hier Tags, ist er witzlos. Die Apps in Tags zu sortieren ist ungenügend und maßlos frustrierend. Eine nachträgliche Bearbeitung der Tag-Inhalte ist scheinbar auch nicht möglich. Somit für mich unbrauchbar, wenn ich praktisch jede App über die Suche starten muss.

- #Lawnchair habe ich erst gar nicht ausprobiert. Er ist Beta.

Ich bin kurz davor doch wieder den #NovaLauncher zu installieren. 🤷‍♂️

Nach #Jahresurlaub jetzt auch noch der #NovaLauncher, der nicht mehr weiterentwickelt wird. Und die Firma hält sich auch nicht an seine Abmachung mit dem Hauptentwickler, die App #OpenSource zu machen.

Ich käme mit #LawnChair klar, aber meine App-Gruppen wieder alle einzustellen wird ewig dauern. Leider hat noch keiner einen Import aus der Nova-Backup-Datei implementiert, bzw. die Issues werden alle geschlossen. Das Format ist einfach eine zip mit sqlite-, xml- und txt-Datei, also theoretisch alles leicht auslesbar.
#SmartLauncher hat in der Beta-Version einen Import eingebaut. Werde ich mal testen.

Gibt es eine App, die mich auf installierte abandoned apps hinweist? Brauche ich anscheinend. 🥲

@UkiahSmith Yeah, switching from one non-FOSS app to another is not a good option, I agree. But all I tried barely do folders at this point.

#FossifyLauncher is extremely bare bones.

The last update for #NeoLauncher was almost two years ago.

#Lawnchair (the new one) seems the most promising, or at least the most active. It now has folders in the app drawer and on the desktop, but they are not connected. Why?!

I keep them all to check updates, but nothing even half as good as Nova exists yet.

#NovaLauncher is easily the one "app" I've used the most, always went back to and relied on. #AFAIK I started using it in 2011,maybe 2012 at the latest and it's the best $5 I spent in 2015...
