RE: https://mastodon.social/@mindnode/115621792617092510
I needed this today, so I added support for it in my #LaunchBar action. You can create a MindNode Alias in the directory of the current Finder window by holding down `control` as you hit `return` on a selected document.

@neall #Steam is completely wrong about this... Ctrl+Space to open #LaunchBar, hit Enter, Cmd+Tab back to browser, hit down arrow to continue reading, focus lost, Cmd+Tab back to browser, down arrow, focus stolen *again*, grrr!

I found myself looking up #Swift Evolution proposals a lot lately, and wanted to make it easier to look them up using #LaunchBar (https://www.obdev.at/products/launchbar). Thankfully, I found https://github.com/attaswift/alfred-swift-evolution, originally by @lorentey and maintained by @ole. I forked it and converted it to a LaunchBar action: https://github.com/humblehacker/launchbar-swift-evolution

🆕 Made a little #LaunchBar action to list cards from @cameronshemilt s StudyCards app.

#Affinity Studio did adopt all the issues the individual apps had. The canvas does not resize properly when I unplug my external screen, and recent documents are still broken. Otherwise, it's fine, though.
BTW: My #LaunchBar action to fix recents is here: https://github.com/Ptujec/LaunchBar/tree/master/Recent-Affinity-Documents

Three things I like about the most recent #LaunchBar update:
1️⃣ Fresh paint. It's not crazily different but still feels fresh. Really nice!
2️⃣ Open a selected shortcut with Cmd-Enter to edit it. It is great when needed.
3️⃣ SF Symbols as action icons. They're really handy, especially if you need something quick but still want it to look nice. -
Writing in #iAWriter and post via #LaunchBar's #instantsend is quite nice for longer posts. Maybe because writing in iA Writer is very pleasant in general. I have a combination of #LaunchBar actions to continue writing in iA Writer from other places and to return once I'm done. There used to be an app for that. #mastodon #playground @ia #writing

⚠️ New #LaunchBar Action Alert! Upcoming is showing (surprise, surprise) upcoming calendar events.
🚀 Open event details in @flexibits #Fantastical, #BusyCal, or the default calendar app.

Another tiny but useful action when you need it. #YouTube #Transcripts for #LaunchBar

Ok, this just made my day! @raycast just added #deeplinks! 🎉 https://manual.raycast.com/deeplinks
This means you can launch any extension right from your favorite launcher. You wish you had that nice emoji grid in #LaunchBar? Create a new action in LBs action editor and add a line of Javascript code with the url scheme. That's all.
That's just one simple example. This opens up a whole new world of possibilities. Nice move, Raycast! 👏🏻

I just released a small update to ✨Reade,✨ my #LaunchBar Action to interact with the #Readwise API:
- The `list` command now supports filtering by tags, e.g., `list business case+study` will list items tagged “business” and “case study”. Multi-word tags need `+` separators in place of spaces.
- View distilled HTML output (`⌥-enter`).
- Lots of minor fixes.Available here: https://github.com/quinncomendant/Reade.lbaction/releases
Previously: https://mastodon.social/@com/113789238914774244

Reader on macOS now supports the same `wiseread://` x-callback-url scheme URLs as the iOS app:
- `wiseread://new` (opens Inbox)
- `wiseread://later` (opens Later)
- `wiseread://shortlist` (opens Shortlist, if that workflow is used)
- `wiseread://archive` (opens Archive)
- `wiseread://search` (opens Search)
- `wiseread://read/{ID}` (opens document by ID)I've updated my Readwise LaunchBar action to open URLs directly in the Reader app now: https://github.com/quinncomendant/Reade.lbaction

I wrote a little about the new Spotlight.

This is really interesting. I'd love to be able to use #AppIntents as building blocks in #Swift scripts or even better something like `LaunchBar.executeAppIntent` in #LaunchBar JS.

Accessing an application’s recent documents seems to be broken by macOS Tahoe. Any hope for a fix? #LaunchBar
-
FYI: With every OS update, there is a chance some of my #LaunchBar actions break. Usually, I am quick to fix them. But I am not planning to update to #Tahoe any time soon.
Please report any issues anyway. -
📣 New #LaunchBar Action: Later — because now isn't always the right time.

As mentioned in my blog post, I listened to The Talk Show Live From WWDC 2025.
Loved the #LaunchBar shout-out by @gruber:

New #LaunchBar Action: Recent #Soulver Sheets.
https://github.com/Ptujec/LaunchBar/tree/master/Recent-Soulver-Sheets

Of all the things introduced yesterday I think #Spotlight is the one I’m most excited about. But in all articles I read they keep referencing #Alfred and #Raycast and only one named #Launchbar, which precedes them, it’s still available and it’s the OG of “Quick Keys” new feature in Spotlight.
-
Often `option` + `command` + `h` is all you need. But sometimes you need a little more to get rid of a cluttered workspace.
I just updated my #LaunchBar action to quit applications based on a predefined context. It now uses the NSWorkspace API instead of AppleScript, which had issues keeping up at times.

Recent Messages in #LaunchBar. Give it a try!

I have to admit, that these days there is very little difference workflow-wise between #LaunchBar and #alfred . Universal actions in the latter have made it somehow a non-issue. I still like LaunchBar's UX more, but I absolutely dread not even writing actions for it, but debugging them. It is a second-thought feature, at best.
-
I pushed a couple of updates to my #Todoist #LaunchBar action, conforming to the new API and supporting deadlines. I use this daily. It has some unique features like pulling in Mail links. Still, at the core, it is about getting stuff quickly into your inbox.

Drafts is a fantastic application. I mainly use it on my phone. While I don't use it extensively, it is gold for what it does.
As a small thank you, here are two #LaunchBar actions: one for viewing recent drafts and another for searching drafts:

#PlainTextExperiment day 2: today I continued using #iaWriter to access my PKM. I discovered the joys of split view on the Mac, which works really well for my workflow.
I also updated the scripts I'd written for Obsidian and made them work anywhere. I can even call them using #LaunchBar so for example I can type "che" into LaunchBar and it runs my checklist manager. A few keystrokes and I'm ready to use a checklist. So far, this new setup has been brilliant and I don't miss Obsidian at all.
