Damn, the end of #LastSamuraiStanding episode 6 makes me want to continue the story by reading the manga.

Although the fights were disappointing (except for that brief fight at the start of episode 5), I'm drawn to the fate of the characters, and motivation of a certain character.

#LastSamuraiStanding episode 4 ended with double cliffhangers.

#LastSamuraiStanding episode 2 is more cinematic, dives more into the characters, and has better fight choreography. It's enough to make me want to continue watching.

Watched the first episode of #LastSamuraiStanding , didn't find it particularly interesting, neither the plot nor the fights managed to draw me in.

#JunichiOkada has aged well, he looks good with beard. The last #jdrama I watched with him in it was from the 2000s.

This is great news, as I enjoyed season one.

S1 is not a full story, it really sets up a longer form multi-season telling, so I'm glad I'll get to find out what happens next.

Last Samurai Standing~ Staffel 1

Seeehr cool umgesetzt! Super Besetzung, spannende Storyline, actionreiche Kämpfe und dazu auch recht brutal und blutig - eine Szene war schon fast gore-like 😂 freu mich meeeega auf die nächste Staffel! ❤️‍🔥

‘Last Samurai Standing’ Star Junichi Okada On Making of Netflix Series That’s a “Mixture of ‘Squid Games’ and ‘Shogun'”

At first I thought #LastSamuraiStanding was just #BattleRoyale.

Then I thought it was Battle Royale meets #HungerGames.

Then Battle Royale meets Hunger Games meets #EscapeFromNewYork.

And now I'm coming to appreciate it may be Battle Royale meets Hunger Games meets Escape from New York meets #ThreeDaysOfTheCondor.

It keeps getting better and better, there is so much more to it than the pilot hinted, and I'm glad I'm watching it.

So #LastSamuraiStanding is basically Squid Game but in Meiji Era Japan, with samurai as the contestants.

Not really wild about the premise - just thought a samurai story sounded fun - but first episode wasn't bad.

I am watching Last Samurai Standing.

I have just reached a moment in Episode 2 that justifies watching the whole series, no matter what else they do with it.

Previously, I was tentatively impressed. Now I'm hooked.

(It's hyper violent. It won't be everyone's cup of tea. It's doing an outstanding job of what I now understand it has set out to do. Your mileage may vary.) 1/n
