Meine schlechte Sicht nervt mich. Ich gucke schon seit Jahren, ob ich meine Augen lasern lasse oder Multi-Fokal-Linsen nehme. Letzteres gefällt mir momentan nicht.

Jetzt habe ich gehört, dass es #Monovision bzw. #Goetheblick gibt, wo ein Auge auf die Ferne eingestellt wird und eins auf die Nähe.

So, I just found out that #LASIK is covered by my health insurance. I have an astigmatism and am kind of scared to get it done for obvious reasons.

I’d like to hear from you if you have had it done especially if you had an astigmatism.

Are there any downsides or do you have any regrets? Any reason I should not have it done? I’m in my late 30s and work on the computer exclusively.

I got laser eye surgery over 3 weeks ago. It was a newer cousin to LASIK called SMILE which is less destructive and causes less dryness and night vision problems.

After my #LASIK surgery, I decided to treat my 👀 better. These monitors are expensive—but are worth every penny. No more dry eyes, blurry characters, never-actually-good colors, and brightness and contrast automatically adjusted.

This rings true with me. I had #Lasik done a decade ago and I regret it. My eyes are so dry all the time I have to constantly use drops and my eyesight is now just as blurry as it was originally anyway.

On the bright side (literally dark, of course), I can see Orion in the sky with my own bare eyes. Being #nearsighted from age 9, and mostly living in big cities, I can see it now thanks to #LASIK and as positive side effect of #KyivPowerCut

Well, about two years after getting #Lasik, and I'm already back to needing glasses (just for reading and computer work).
Just my two cents, but if I could go back, I'd skip wasting the money on it. It was not worth it.
At least I held on to my old frames, though...

@decodingtrolls All potential patients should be warned of complications. In the case of refractive vision errors, these are correctable with glasses or, in most cases, contact lenses. But #lasik has become an industry.

As a sighted person (albeit imperfectly even with #LASIK) I still default to reading image descriptions if:
* there is text on the image. It's almost always blurred by screenshot tool, and then further by processing of social networks, more than once if you repost from somewhere else;
* the photo is from look-at-that category. I often lack contest to get it at all, or may easily be wrong about expected reaction. I have to know what I'm nodding to.
