Anyone know if it is possible to make a laser cutter (e.g. by using different parts of the spectrum) that can cut food but doesn't suffer the issues with damaging eyes when the beam gets reflected through fluids and such?

So far I haven't found anything, but you never know what you don't know. So I'd like to ask all of you too.

Very disappointed that our new Xtool P3 that arrived today isn't yet up and running. We had an error code that's either firmware/software or mechanical. :( Device water flow is low. We put in the correct mix of anti freeze and distilled water, but something isn't working. We needed help to lift it onto its stand, so this is not an easy machine to just send back. Let's see what Xtool support says - hopefully tomorrow. :( #Xtool #Maker #LaserCutter

Join Matt Burke for this fun journey into making personalized pieces with our laser cutter.

Students will start in our #woodshop, learning how to prepare a pre-cut board or live edge slab from a selection of options. Pieces will be cut to size and ready to finish plane, sand and prepare for laser engraving.

Students will then take their prepared board to our #LaserCutter and learn how to engrave a family recipe on the surface.

To make sure we have enough time to complete your projects in class, please submit your recipe ahead so MAXT staff can pre-process your laser cut file."

Had fun last night running a show and tell session about heat transfer vinyl. It's fun to multilayer and also great fun to use the laser to cut fabric and then sort of seal the edges with HTV to make patches! #making #fabric #lasercutter #vinylcutter

Today I have been #3dPrint​ing parts for RoBug, a small quadruped robot, I learned about yesterday at a workshop at @essembly.
