  2. "Slow Down" is a #rockAndRoll song written and performed by #LarryWilliams. Recorded in 1957, #AllMusic writer Stewart Mason describes it as "raucous enough to be #punkRock nearly a full two decades before the concept was even in existence." #SpecialtyRecords released it as a single in 1958, but only the second-side "#DizzyMissLizzy" reached the record charts. Both songs were later covered by #theBeatles.

  4. This week's #JukeboxFridayNight theme is #Connections.

During the late 1950s, it was quite common to have references to current hit records in the lyrics of new songs. In some extreme cases, the lyrics were almost totally constructed of other song titles. These are the first five examples of this that came into my mind:

Larry Williams: Short Fat Fanny (1957)

Bobby Darin: Queen Of The Hop (1958)

  7. You make me dizzy, Miss Lizzy
    When you rock and roll
    When you do the stroll
    Come on, Lizzy!
Love me 'fore I grow too old
    Run and tell your mama
I want you to be my bride
    Run and tell your brother
    Baby, don't run and hide
    Come on, baby!
    Love me 'til I'm satisfied
