Lofgren seems to have underestimated the juvenile nature of the contemporary Congress.

“I know what it was, the pins were designed when Democrats were in the majority so it was thought it was, you know, the Green New Deal,” Rep. Glenn Thompson (R-PA) told Raw Story from behind his shiny green pin. “I thought it was whining, and I thought it was a waste of money to redo them mid-term. We don't have that kind of money here.”

As chair of the House Agriculture Committee, Glenn’s one of the rare Republicans embracing the green pins, which are still official 118th Congress pins — just this Congress now has two official pins.

Here's a loosely organized document of recommendations on #pin manufactuers, both within North America and Overseas. Generally, overseas producers are very high quality and should not cause concern, but there have been cases in the past where art theft occurred.

Unfortunately there is not really a solid "DIY" option outside of using an acrylic mold with lead-free solder; as for the pressed metal options, I am not aware of any or specifically machines that a home user could buy... not really a small thing.

Remember when #pins were a big thing? I found these while cleaning; almost all of them came from tech conferences/events in the early 2000s. I might just buy a cork board... #lapelpins
